Oh yeah by the way I'm british, **** national pride I just want to see people fight, I'm not going to change my opinion just because Calzaghe's british. I call 'em as I see 'em.

I posted a link 2 the fight, im waiting for unbiased people to score it, and not revert to name calling. You may have saw ut another way. But RJ was very much in the fight be4 the cut is my point, and couldve very well won, if not 4 it. Just rewatch n lemme know wat you think.

The fight couldn't be even after round 6 ... 6 rounds + a knockdown = 3-4 for either fighter as the closes to a tie.

In my book Jones won the two first round + a knockdown = 20-17 after round 2 ... he then lost every round (3-4 close, but no doubt Calzaghe won them though) the rest clear Calzaghe. = 90-100

Final score 117-110 ... I guess the referees ringside gave round 2 to Calzaghe - which could be argued.

This fight was close the first three rounds - as long as Jones the stamina to keep up. Sorry but he is shot and should have stopped years ago. A trully sad fight - hate to see boxers fight too long...

I gave Jones the 5th round as well. I think Rj landed the harder cleaner shots n got round 5

Calzaghe was not shot - but neither was Jones. Good post OP. I felt Jones was very much in there for at least the whole first half of the fight.

You've got to be kidding me with this thread. I guess it was only a matter of time. Give Jones rd 1 cuz of the knock down. Rd 2 was borderline. The rest of them were easily Calzaghe. This is really the first I've heard anybody suggest otherwise. And I've watched the fight 4 times (on a 50" plasma). But I do agree with you that Jones isn't shot. In fact, I think present day RJJ can possibly take out Chad Dawson via KO.

Calzaghe wouldn't have showboated against a prime Jones, and as a result he would have done much better than he did tonight.
And I saw it on a channel without the Bogus HBO scoring (this is how they score: US fighter vs UK fighter: every one punch from US fighter gives him the round. UK fighter vs Euro fighter: UK fighter automatically wins every round unless he has UK fighter reeling) and Jones lost all but one - maybe two - rounds COMFORTABLY. I totally agree with the scorecards. Face the facts guys.

that i did not see, rounds couldve gone either way. None of them were easy. Draw at best after 6, or one man leading by a point.

Which is wat HBO and Sentanta had. So that easily thing is ridiculous.

Roy Jones was not shot. I thought he was going to beat Calzaghe but Calzaghe is just too good for Jones at this time in his career. By the way, I don't see how you can score round 3 for Jones. Calzaghe was amazing in that round.

Its a draw after 6 because of the knockdown and if you give Jones rd 2 (which none of the actual judges did). Look, I'm not saying Jones did badly or that he's shot. He was doing very good, much better than I've seen from him in recent years. But Calzaghe was just doing better. Its as if Jones was going 50mph (which is good for Jones) but Calzaghe was going 80mph. Wasn't really that hard to see. And its not like the cut came from one good punch. It was from an accumulation of what Joe had already been doing since round 3. I hope to see Roy fight again. Like I said, I think I'm the only one on here calling for him to face off against Chad Dawson, which I think would be a competitive fight and a win/win for us Americans. Either Jones gets redemption or Dawson sets himself up for a showdown with Calzaghe.
