Marquez: "Objectively, I Can Honestly Say Hamed Shouldn't Be In The Hall Of Fame"

back in the days, i would love to see an espinosa-hamed fight as well. too bad it didn't happened.

 

I'm a JMM fan but thats rubbish.

Naz is very underrated and wasnt even near his best against Barrera, a fight that he lost by a few pts.

Could have beaten MAB, EM, PAC or JMM at his best, could also have lost to them when not at his best as was proved, his KO power, prime reflexes and speed would give them all fits, if he landed on PAC or JMM they'd know all about it.

 

Hamed was entertaining and not afraid to fight the best but maybe he knew after the MAB fight that his heart was not in it anymore.

I know allot of ESB peoples mare going to start beating up on Naz but this is guy who more often gave the fans exciting fights. Unfortunately, he gets less respect than BHOP who is more often involved in boring fights.

 

Firstly Marquez is probably right. Hamed let his mind slip from what was good for his boxing career. He detached himself from Brendan Ingle, let his ego drift to cloud 9 and became lazy - thinking he could just win - just win.

But his physical attibutes were immense - though it was not pure boxing.

 

he was at his best when he lost to MAB.

 

Hamed was a much lesser fighter than all of the above.^ JMM is right.

 

Let me start off by saying that I hate when Hamed fans say he lost to Barrera because "his heart was'nt in boxing anymore".........That's just a lame excuse,eventually Hamed fundamental flaws were going to catch up to him and it did when he fought Barrera.

Now as for the subject of this thread, now I don't know if Hamed deserves a spot in the HOF but he does at least deserve some consideration to be inducted one day.

 

Hamed in no way deserves to be in the HOF, he fought one top level guy and lost. And at just that time all of his fans say he suddenly wasn't at his prime anymore despite not even being 30.

 

I'm still a fan of his best days. The problem was he became lazy - believed in his abilities to the extent that his boxing skills didn't even require intense training. This is where he became a complete jack-arse. And Marquez is right - in this respect.

 

BULL****! Just about everything you said is garbage. I like Naz, but he was just a star with GREAT knockout power. He wasn't even close to being technically sound as a boxer. He was overrated when he was undefeated and now maybe a bit underrated by some. Hall of fame? Maybe. He was very famous. But the Hall of being a truly all-time great fighter. Miss me with that ****. That's rubbish.

 

Barry McGuigan is a HOFer just to put things in to perspective.

 

Hamed quit in the prime of his career, and at a time when there was an immense talent pool invading 126 lbs........that my friends is not what HOF'ers do.

Hamed had tremendous physical skills, but not a whole lot of boxing or boxing knowleadge skills.
MAB beat him handily, and so would JMM, Morales, and Pac for that matter.........not just beat him, but beat him handily.

Hamed imo does'nt belong in the same ring with these greats.

 

Barry McGuigan does'nt belong in the HOF, just to put things into perspective.......
......there's a few in that HOF I'm sure that have got in through sheer politics.

 

Hamed is a fighter you love to hate cuz he was cocky but JMM is right. Hamed doesn't really have a good resume to be consider a HOF
