If this is true, Wlad is starting to become a cherry picker. First, Rahman, now fat Toney, ridiculous.:-(

Someone please explain to me intelligently how a 5'9'' fighter that likes to counter on the inside, can beat a 6'6'' boxer that doesn't fight on the inside, but has become a master of fighting from the outside because he has one of the best jabs in boxing ???

    That was not the point.

Toney has fought better competition than Haye who has had only one fight against a journeyman.

Is Taylor an all ATG because he beat Hopkins? See yout point makes no sense.

Toney is an ATG. He has faced good competition at heavyweight and his record at heavy is OK. He should get a shot Wladi.

Aurolea is not ready yet, and as Lennox Lewis said he needs more experience because he has not faced anyone. Haye is talented but had only one fight at heavyweight.
There is no one else left.

Some of the best young challengers for Big Bad Wlad are Arreola, Povetkin, and Haye.

Imo, they all need a bit more seasoning.

If Wlad were to beat the **** out of Toney that would buy those 3 the time to take on a contender or 2.

The fight would probably stink and Wlad would literally **** the short, fat, shot Toney.

But it makes the other 3 more dangerous if they hop in w/ a Peter, Sultan, Thompson, etc. in the meantime.

    By magic, duh.

Besides if Toney came into the fight at 220, EVERYONE knows he would incredibly counter Wlad and knock him out. Somehow :huh

I would definitely buy Toney vs. Wlad. As other posters already pointed out, Toney just might be the only halfway decent option left for Klitschko. Haye is looking to fight Vitali, Valuev, Chagaev seem to be set to meet other opponents withArreola being too damn green to fight Klitschko right away. So why not? Every dominant hvw champ has got to prove his status by fighting champs of the past. Toney might even surprise some people by putting up a solid performance...

Haye has talked even worse trash about Wladimir, yet he isn't fighting him? :huh Toney is a fight Wlad would take in second -- he has no chance to hit him.

Haye was a fight Wladimir should have taken.

I was a big Toney Fan but anyone with an ounce of logical thought processing through their brain can see that from watching Toney against Fres Oquendo, there is no point in him even fighting much longer, let alone fighting Wladimir Klitschko who in my opinion takes his opponents hearts after he lands a few stiff jabs in their face. I think the man to beat Wlad would be a fighter who is actually fit and who uses head movement and lateral movement because its easy to hit a stationery target and Toney with all his slickness and skills would be eating jabs for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If Fres Oquendo can constantly land Jabs on Toney then what the hell would Klitschko do. Come on now fellas...

The fighter you described to beat Wladi does not exist. The heavyweight division is very weak right now. Nobody probably beats Wladi anyway.

Haye may have a shot to beat him. But as Lowblow stated, Haye lookes to fight Vitali and has only had one fight at heavy so far.

I seriously doubt Toney comes in at around 230 for Wladi. He will probably be between 220-225 and put on a solid performance.

Roy has too much brains and too little balls to fight Vladimir Klitschko.

To be honest I can't see Toney beating Wlad at this point. Maybe, maybe, IF he took a good tune-up fight and showed up in great shape (215lbs) he could give Wlad a tough fight but we all know that will most probably not happen.. He'd still be more competitive than Rahman, and also more worthy of a shot than Arreola.
Like I always said, Toney should focus on a fight with Tony Thompson. He has to finally get into good shape to beat the tall, underrated and dangerous southpaw Thompson, and only if he looks good doing so should he even think about facing Wlad. Make Toney-Thompson an eliminator for the IBF or the WBO and take it from there.

Another thing, Toney would beat Valuev if they faced each other right now. Valuev wouldn't land a punch on Toney. Toney would still get robbed.
