    A non title fight. Which two contenders do you wanna see fight in 2009? this is any 2 fighters that dont have a world title.

    There are so many instances of a fighter who is not in the top four of his division picking up one of the four main belts that I'm disinclined to use it as the main criterion for defining who is a contender. For instance, I think Andre Berto is one of the best contenders in the welterweight division, even though he holds the WBC strap. My standards for describing a contender is someone who has not been considered the best fighter in the division he currently occupies. Nevertheless, I'm a congenial fellow and will give my answer both using your definition as well as my own.

    Original Poster's definition:
    Alexander Povetkin v. David Haye (I obviously don't count his undisputed cruiserweight status)

    My own:
    Celestino Caballero v. Juan Manuel Lopez-This would establish who is the heir apparent to Vazquez in one of the best divisions in boxing. I would hope Lopez would come out unscathed and potentially set up a fight way down the road with a moving up Abner Mares.

    That philipino concepcion vs jml. I know jml is a champ now but supposedly concepcion is a beast also.
