I wouldn't say its better than heavyweight at all. Wladimir and Vitali are leagues better than anybody at cruiser. Can anybody really say Adamek is comparable and keep a straight face?

The contenders are all the same. You got your Huck's, Flores, Enzo, Wlod or whoever else, I don't see a huge difference between them and Ibragimov, Chag before he hit the bermuda triangle, Thompson, Povetkin, Haye etc. Infact I prefer Haye and Povetkin to any of them, Haye was considered the best cruiserweight.

All I would say is cruiser has the best prospect of the two divisions by far.

The division is more entertaining because it is competitive. You can't tell me that the gap between the top 10 fighters and the top 20 fighters in the CW division is wider than the HW division. Also, these CW's are always in shape and come to fight which makes it entertaining. Some of the Cruisers in the top 20 can beat guys in the top 10 in the division. You can't say the same in the HW division because the talent gap is so large.

    It is.

    So?

Actually it isnt to counterweight standards.

That doesn't mean the division is not better son.

The division has more competitive boxing matches and better fights available, while in heavy you have old washed up grandpaws fighting for the title, almost winning (Valuev - Holyfield). Give me a break son. Heavy sucks.

Do you see a guy liek Virgil Hill coming back and ALMOST beating a guy like Jones or Adamek?

    Give me a break dude....

Somewhat, mainly couse they are European. But they are better in shape and boxers overall then those fat mother****ing heavys. Come on dude .... Them fat ****s are nothing.

    I follow Wlodarczyk a lot...

This man is in the gym all the time, weather or not he keeps himself busy in Dancing with Stars like Floyd did, he is ALWAYS in the gym. Wlodarczyk's physique > most heavys. And im sure Enzo and Huck also keep their fit body's together unlike the Toneys and Lyakovich's in your division.

Provetkin couldn't make cruiser anyway.... your changing the subject..

    The best cruiserweight is Holyfield.

They both cant make cruiser anymore abyways.

The CRUISERWEIGHT DIVISION is more competative, more versatile, and better overall.

    Heavyweight sucks, face it son.

Please....Dawson, Calzaghe, Hopkins, and even some of the super middles Kessler, and Bute would move up there and dominate. There are only a few decent fighters there.

Why do keep on doing that with his name; I find it pretty easy to make out, don't you?:huh

BTW if you are gonna reply, I'm called D-MAC. Those are capital letters, and there is a hyphen in there as well. If you have any problems with the spelling, just PM me and I'll help you out.

    Adamek is there....

its still probably the weakest div in boxing except some of the smaller divisions. #3-4 at LHW (Dawson) would easily beat the best at CW. That tells us all we need to know.

    Can you read?:think

Hudson was disagreeing with you. He said Many LHWs and many SMWs could move to CW and dominate. - that is how weak CW is.

    And I agree.

Competitiveness, that is the key to the cruiserweight division being so entertaining.

I have said for awhile now that this division is highly undervalued and is very exciting. It may not have a star name since Haye left but it does have many good fighters and more importantly most of these fighters are of a similar level.

Go on boxrec, The Ring or whatever and check out their respective top 20 cruiserweight rankings. You could randomly pick any two guys of the list and it would more than likely be a competitive, good fight.

Ok they lack the star names like the Margo's and Cotto's of the welterweights, the JMM and Diaz's of the lightweights and even the Klitschko's of the heavyweights but i don't know any other division in boxing with a top 20 as competitive as the cruiserweights.

Its a good division definately. Quality wise, i'm not so sure if its right up there, no real P4Pers there, but there are a lot of big names, all of whom are quite evenly matched. Lots of great, exciting fights to be made up there.

The departure of Haye isn't that damaging to the division I dont think. There are a number of quality contenders who can rise to the top, its gonna be a very competitive division. Adamek, Cunningham, Flores and Alexeev are gonna be the main guys I think.... Possibly Macca, not too sure. Mormeck and Bell are probably finished as genuine contenders for the number 1 spot, but could certainly both pick up a belt and cause an upset here and there.

    Its a good, exciting division.

I cant see how people reckon HW is better.

Discounting a punchers chance against Wlad, the Klits aint gonna be beaten. Says more about the terrible lack of talent in the division than the Klits themselves.

The fights there are slow, lumbering and devoid of skill. Competitiveness and excitement it is not. Jacko makes a good point about the competitiveness in the CW's however. CW's fight faster, and in shape. There have been some awesome fights at CW recently, Adamek-USS, Haye-Mormeck, Mormeck-Bell.

Its clearly a better division. It lacks the standout talent of the Klits, but is all round full of evenly matched, exciting contenders.

Head to head Gulliermo Jones is the best in the division.

Haye was excellent, he took the 2 most meaningful/lucrative bouts - after taking meaningful fights to get him there, such as Gurov, Fragomeni - and then moved up.

Adamek and Cunningham did a great job of filling that hole. Defense might not have been great, but the offense certainly was. The 3 knockdowns were nicely picked shots. This was up there with Vazquez-Marquez quality offensive boxing (main difference is, Cunn and Adamek didn't bleed as much!), and those 2 had some defensive liabilities vs each other as well.
