Floyd Mayweather's credentials

Personally I don't know why so many people want him to fight Margarito. Rewatching parts of the Margarito/Cotto fight I noticed that he was constantly open to anything Cotto wanted to throw. At some points Cotto couldn't miss him, although he couldn't hurt him either. Thus Mayweather would hit him softly all night while making Tony miss, and everyone would whine that it was a boring fight and Margarito wasn't that good anyway. And the hate would continue.

He did not beat Hatton at his natural weight class (140), Hatton was the one that had to move out of his comfort zone.

In saying that though FM is a great boxer, have nothing against him.

I'm a huge Mayweather fan, but at the same time I can be realistic. I would say he's much more impressive H2H than resume-wise. He has not always taken the path of most resistance. That being said, his resume gets more hate on here than it should. It's definitely impressive, and I think that people frequently fabricate or flat-out make up different offers that were made to Floyd or opponents that he "ducked." It's pretty hard for anyone who isn't in pretty close contact with the fighters to know the exact details of a fight that never happened.

Credentials are good, but if you look at the opponents he has faced to get them, they aren't as fantastic as you would think.

    Hearns by-decapitation-8 Mayweather.

Hearns was just as fast, if not faster than Floyd, and he knocked out cruisers!

HMMMMM... .... Gatti , Corrales, Zab, probably the three most recognized names in there, they were somewhere between good gatekeepers to lame champions at best, yep, you read that correctly...Mayweather is a big hype until he can prove otherwise.. Cotto could have or even has beat some of those guys in more convincing fashion.... call me what you want but UBF can't & won't be able to hang with the big guys @ 147 (Marg & Cotto). At some point he IS going to get tagged, then slowed, and then, you know what will happen... these guys are not Gatti or Zab, when they get to him they WILL capitalize...UBF knows it.
