Does anyone know where the Colombian power puncher who took out Amir Khan inside of a minute is up to?
Very good question to whoever put this thread up. As someone mentioned earlier apparently he is signed to Frank Warren which is strange because I cant quite see the Khan rematch happening if thats the case but it will be good to see Breidis back in the ring and for him to maybe get a trainer like Floyd Senior in his corner because he will need to brush up on boxing skills from what I saw of him in the Richard Abril fight. The power is there but he needs to work on that slickness and he will definetly a big world title contender for sure. He might find he has trouble with Counter punchers and the likes of slick boxers from what I can gather but I really like this kid and he done the business in stunning fashion against Mr Khan
I think he won't be fighting for a while due to legal wrangles between Sports Network and Arena-Box. I would be very surprised if he went with Floyd Sr, because Hatton won't want to be seen to be helping an SN fighter by sharing with him his trainer, and Warren wouldn't want Prescott associated with Hatton. He is a crude, one-dimensional banger who has shattered the glass jaw of a complete hype-job - no big deal. A clever counter puncher with a decent chin would stand him on his head.
Floyd Sr said he is dying and thus only taking major fighters who can pay big bucks and achieve big things.
That is like asking Alex Ferguson to be graceful in defeat. Rule #1 for any SN fighter is to fight at least ten feather fisted bums, or shot fighters, before moving up to journeyman/domestic gatekeeper level.
