The real problem with this PPV is the opponents of both. And really it's Ol' man Arum at the wheel, ****, the fighters just fight.

I guess you guys dont know nothing about Cotto because his 2 belts he has won were both vacant. he hasnt beat a titleholder yet. so this is the 3rd time already, do your homework.

DISAGREED Completley, unless Pavlik is an ignorant mule. If I am Kelly Pavlik, and I am the Middleweight Champion, I am, regardless of my Promoter, going to have a HUGE say in how my fights are promoted. Otherwise, I walk. It's why Oscar got away from Arum. If Kelly knows the sport, he should tell Arum that he against this jobber, will not sell well outside of Youngstown.

OK, all fair points, I'm just a fan and don't know **** about the business end of the deals. But to your last point, I did read yesterday that this jobber will be held in Youngtown's Civic Arena.

I like Pavlik a lot. I was mad at him for beating up my boy Jermain "Drain the Main Vein" Taylor, TWICE but the kid is all heart, balls and guts. I like his style. He had a miserable night against a master, Bernard Hopkins at an unnatural weight. And he is PPV Worthy IF the opponent is right.

actauuly Arum backed down. Berto was ready for that fight and Arum didnt let Cotto do that because thats a dangerous fight. he found jennings and let that fight happen. samething with Margarito, Williams was gonna touch him up again but Arum said no. even in 05 Mayweather wanted to fight Cotto and Arum said no. Arum is garbage.

:yep That's basically all I was tryin' to say with my first post too. Good to see you guys again BTW, work and shitz, I haven't been on ESB since like July I think.

Home now though, and ready to get back in the swing, stayed up until 4 a.m. watchin' every fight OnDemand still had on it, because I hadn't seen any of the last few months fights. Where I was all I could do was wait for magazines to arrive and see what happened (like the month before:lol:).

Rubio beat Zertuche, Cuevos, and Orenales is his last 3 fights, so he earned is mandatory position a lot more so than many mandatories we've seen. I don't know anything about Jennings.

Many Pavlik fans are also big Cotto fans, and vice versa. Almost everyone who is a fan of either fighter is anxious to see how they do after getting the **** kicked out of them. I know I am. At $39.95 this card will do decent numbers. It won't do great numbers, but it'll do okay.

There are always 3-5 of us in my family who split the cost of a PPV, and my sis cooks up a great dinner. Always a fun family event, and a damn cheap night of entertainment.

However, over the long term it would probably be better for the sport and better for the fighters to put Pavlik/Rubio and Cotto/Jennings on seperate cards on Verses.

If this is the standard for PPV's, nearly everything is worthy of PPV. Not what we need. Save that for superfights. They deserve the big money to encourage them to make those kinds of fights that we want to see.

    Disgraceful.
