I'm thinking of buying an ipod but I know sweet f**k all about them.

I want it for the Nike plus really so I only need a small memory. I've been looking and it's all 1st generation 2nd generation, etc.

So if anyone can give a bit of advice on how they work and where to buy one cheaply it would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Bout $150 for the chromatic. That's 8 gig. I don't think they even sell the 4 gig any more.

Besides having music for all things, vids too...you can also DL programs with timed intervals which is helpful for training with them. 2 minute intervals, or 3...depending on what you want. But it doesn't need to be an ipod...which are generally more expensive then all other forms of mp3 players. you can get a cheap generic one for like $20 if money is tight.

I've had a 4gig creative zen for three years or more and it still works fine. Can't download vids or programs, but it plays music like it is supposed to

that's the thing...not everyone has the $$ for a more expensive ipod. the $20 versions will serve one well enough, and the training timers are nothing more then an mp3...so it'll work on any player. I can try to dig up the programs if anyone wants them. They're basically the same timers your gyms use for training.

I've had both...a shitcheap one, and now an ipod touch. Functionally they aren't a whole lot different unless you are into vids.

Buy an ipod shuffle. It "only" holds about 1 gig, which is good for ~200 songs. It clips right onto my shorts, and is extremely small. And it costs like 80$.

The iPod isnt worth ****. Anything Apple makes is garbage. There are far far superior .mp3 players out there on the market that do a better job than that shareware proprietary trash.

I've been looking and I've seen you can get a 2gig Nano for fairly cheap and I've also seen that you need a 2nd generartion one to work with the nike plus feature(which is why I really want it).

How much does the Nike plus feature cost?

Thanks for the input though people.

Out of curiosity though Scurla, what problems you had with apple?
