I agree. I said I thought he should after the fight.

Sure, he can hang around and be a gatekeeper but I think that would be sad to see for a former champ with a lot of heart and pride. His best days have come and gone.

He does not have the ability to win titles or beat the best fighters in the division. He's just not good enough to do that with one hand, and it seems perfectly obvious he won't use the right even when he says its feeling good.

N'Dou is not that good and he arguably lost to him the second time. Ngoudjo is a solid fighter and he arguably lost that fight as well. I don't believe he gave Cotto that hard of a fight. Cotto pretty much did what he wanted with Paulie. Paulie won about 3, maybe 4 rounds. At no point did he ever hurt Cotto. Sure, there are guys who he can beat. However, I don't see him beating the top guys. He can't beat Hatton. He would probably lose to Holt and Bradley. Witter would probably beat him. I would probably pick Torres to beat him as well.

That's not happening, especially him beating Holt. Holt's biggest problem is his chin. I think he would have a lot more KO's if he were more confident in his ablility to take a punch. Holt wouldn't have to worry about his chin failing him against Paulie. If you think Paulie is going outbox a guy like Holt using nothing but a jab and an occasional right hand, you're seriously mistaken. I think Witter is too awkward and tricky for Paulie. I believe that would be a bad matchup for the Magic Man.

Paulie has some issues right now. He wont throw his right hand and he has gotten away from what he did best which was move with his feet. I think it is unfair to judge Paulie on his fight with hatton.

If Paulie can get back to using his legs and moving laterally he can still box circles around most people at 140.

Lets get serious here, Paulie cant hang at 140 is ridiculous! Other than Hatton we have Ngoudjo fighting Urango at 140, paulie beats both these guys easily. Paulie is still a top 5 Junior Welter. Maybe he cant beat hatton, but who cna at 140? I say he tests everyone at 140 and beats nearly everyone else.

RightCross, you've been overrating Paulie for some time now. It's not surprising that you continue to do so. You claim that Paulie would beat Ngoudjo easily. Well, they already fought and that was anything but an easy win for Paulie. Paulie is not a top 5 JWW. Hatton, Holt, Bradley, Witter, and Pacquiao are all better than him.

I agree with this 100%. Paulie's one of the good guys too. He's a bit like Haye character wise, talks **** to liven things up but is actually an articulate, quick and decent guy. He's definately got a career in the media when he hangs up his gloves. If not, his boxing skills and knowledge of the sport should allow to be a pretty decent trainer.

No shame in loosing to Hatton, he's a monster at 140 and would school anyone at light welterweight. I think Paulie should fight on, cos he's good enought to, and finish his career on a high. His blue moon beer touch at the Hatton press conference showed what a class act he is.

    Hope he keeps fighting.

Your post is filled with obvious bias, as it always is with Paulie. You dispute all of Paulies achievements and claim he never beat opponents he did, as if they was robbed. I feel like I am arguing to a delusional guy who normally has decent reason if not informed. Did Paulie **** your girlfriend or something? :yep

You have no basis to back up any of the above junior welters beating Paulie. The only guy at 140 we know that can beat Paulie is Hatton, Pac hasnt even fought at 140 yet. I concede that Paulie has been looking worse. He isnt fighting his style for the last few fights. His first fight against Ndou where he literally made him look the fool is how I picture paulie. He has great boxing ability when he wants to use it, why has changed his tyle to more of a grab style is somewhat due to who he has fought. When you fight a mauler like hatton who plow into you its hard to box them.

I maintain that with someone who will stay in the middle of the ring and box Paulie he can still outbox the vast majority of people at 140.

Every says they are "contemplating retirement" after a bad loss. Look at Hatton he wanted to fight a rematch with Floyd or retire. Its something all fighters who lose go through. Paulie will be back and probably win another strap.

If you want to continue holding on to these Paulie delusions, go right ahead. I have nothing against Paulie, I simply call it like I see it. I told you that he would get the crap beaten out of him against Hatton. I told you what would happen and why it would happen. Paulie isn't outboxing anyone except 2nd tier brawlers. Paulie is a one handed fighter without power, or much defense. His chin is also nowhere near as good as people make it out to be. Please tell me how Paulie would outbox Bradley, Holt, Witter or even Pac. I don't even care that Pac has yet to fight at 140. The guys he was fighting at 130 hit harder than Paulie. Marquez is certainly is better boxer than Paulie. So if Marquez can't outbox Pac to a decision, what makes you think Paulie can?
