To me, it's obvious that Hopkins would sweep all the rounds.
But if you disagree, explain how the slow and ponderous Valuev would win a single round.
He can't outbox Hopkins, and he's a relatively soft puncher with poor accuracy and bad coordination. Also, his stamina is terrible - he was winded halfway into the Holyfield fight.
But I'm curious to know how you give this dude a round, let alone the bout.

I got in this discussion recently and to be honest it's starting to make sense to me, Hopkins can beat him and easily, they should make it in the US of course otherwise the result is already written.

I'm 16st 6ft 3" boxed a few rounds and could take a desent shot so even I'd take Valuev, so it's obvious Hopkins would. Anyone who's boxed and has a fairly decent chin would take this guy. Primo Camera anyone? Anyone?

Once upon a time I could, but your quiet right not no more, too much beer I'm affraid. But I stand by what I say a decent fighter post 168 with a good chin beats this guy.

nope ! no rounds for big ugly Valuev.. 120-108x3 Hopkins ! I think this fight should happen I'd love to see Valuev get easily outboxed and humiliated by B.Hop and B.Hop retire as Heavyweight Champion of the world !! wouldn't that be something?

Bernard lands straight rights on Valuev's left nipple all night long.

It would be a freakshow of a fight with a 43 year old light heavy against a giant 300lb 7ft hairy monster. At the same time it makes sense for Hopkins in legacy terms, to pick up a heavyweight title even if its against the most cherrypicked opponent.

Valuev needs an injection of adrenaline before his fights.

Valuev wouldn't get any decision no matter where the fight was.

Let's look at reality, he only just sneaked a decision against Holyfield in the eyes of these so called biased judges; by one point on one card and even on another.

With Hopkins increased work-rate (this feels strange to say) the decision would be a formality.

My money is on Hopkins, though Valuev's stamina is top notch, as well as chin. I just dont like that fact he does nothing on the inside and when in the clinch he never imposes his weight in his oppenent, and severely lacks killer instinct or a hard punch for his weight. The only way he could beat a fighter like Hopkins, would be for him to keep his jab out all night and try and land a big right to keep Hopkins honest, other than that, Hopkins wins a boring decision, yet an awesome feat none the less.

How can you possibly rate yourself as a decent fighter?
Your opponents have to rate and your trainers,
    Ratings yourself is stupid.
I doubt your chin has even been tested at the professional level.

    He's not

  15. But the extra weight would badly sap Hopkins of stamina, especially if Valuev clinches him - Hopkins couldnt work his magic inside because the other guy is so much bigger!

One or two punches from Valuev - he might not be a big puncher, but if they land (and 1/2 will - especially as Hopkins tires and cant move as good because of his extra weight), you could see Hopkins going down several times/being stopped.. Pavlik is not the same as someone who albeit slower and predictable, but approx 125lb minimum heavier and more than a foot bigger. Brilliant accomplishment if Hopkins does it - but he'd be a HUGE underdog, because he's far older than Jones was, and will not be as effective as he should be - because of his added weight!
