Yep -- The lucky *******! Just imagine if Miguel Diaz hadn't noticed McKart holding his left elbow to far from his body. Pavlik would never have landed that lead right, and surely the double tough McKart would have derailed the Pavlik hype train. Or, how about Zuniga! If his face hadn't somehow turned into something resembling a bowl of stewed tomatos, they'd have never stopped that fight. The lucky *******!
I know people don't want to hear it, but Pavlik made a huge mistake not calling the fight due to his physical condition. If you look at the Bhop, Taylor, Pavlik triangle, it doesn't take much to see that this fight should have been competitive. I'd like to here something definitive from Kelly, but I doubt we ever will, at least not for a long time. Remember, NO ONE was supposed to leak his condition at all. I'm haven't deserted him. Hell, I may be the only one that still wants to see the Calzaghe fight. :yep
The combination of silly ass mandatories for both guys, and Pavlik's loss to BHop has kept that fight just out of reach for way to long. The latest word is that they have already opened negotiations for next summer.
Write this down: Joe Calzaghe will never fight Kelly Pavlik. In spite of Pavlik's physical condition, the loss to Bernard gave Joe the perfect out.
