I understand Kessler's team dont want him going up and down in weight and he just used 2008 getting the belt back and defending it so he is not ready to drop it for Dawson. They offered Dawson a fight at 168 and Dawson didn't want it. Fair enough.

The problem is not that. The fights that should be made are Taylor, Froch, Bute, Lacy, Direll, Winky, Abraham, Pavlik etc. Abraham vs Pavlik is a great fight I would like to see before either of them move to SMW though.

You got a link for C.D turning down Kessler? I have a hard time believing he would turn down a guy that is tailor made for him stylewise. Even if he had to boil down in weight, this fight would be easy money in the bank for Chad.

i could say it over and over again.
Mikkel Kessler is WBA worldchampion...all the top fighters want´s to be worldchamps.
I find it hard to belive that all the smw really don´t care about that worldtitle...
Nobody want´s a piece of Kessler in the US,because nobody want´s to riskin to get their ass beaten by "the unknown b-level fighter" from Denmark.
Joe Calzaghe had the balls to face him.
And after the fight witch he won,he said that Kessler will be the man at 168.
Calzaghe also said that kessler is the toughest fight since Eubank.
He know what he talks about,he´s been there with lacy,B-hop,roy J,and kessler...
But still kessler is a B-level fighter...??
WAKE up...USA isn´t the only country in the world, with great fighters.

Im sick of all this kessler trashtalk...

Kessler is a great fighter IMO,who don´t need to trashtalk he´s opponent.
I must admit that Hopkins quotes,"I WILL NEVER LOOSE TO A WHITE BOY",shows he´s great sportsman ship.

    tsk tsk tsk

Palle got Kessler a worldtitle-fight aged 25 - that's pretty good for a fighter out of Denmark ... He then got him a unificationfight in Denmark against Beyer (also a very hard fight to make - getting German champions out of Germany is hard) ... He then got him a recordpaying unificationfight versus Calzaghe ... the fight that paid Kessler more than Hopkins and Pavlik got for facing eachoter (their purses put together) ... then a titlefight in his comebackfight ... then there was the mandatory - well a mandatory is just that and hence the opponent is out of Palle's hands...

    Which promotor/manager did better around SMW? Abraham's? Froch's Inkin's Bute's Mundine's

If Palle lands Kessler a good fight next - either a top name or a name opponent for the US marked, then he has done very very fine in my book...

Well.... Mohumbo 'Sleep with Squirrels' Malulo may be the best singer in the world, but if noone outside of his African village has ever heard of him - can you really blame people for not thinking he is the best?

I am exaggerating of ofcourse - to prove a point.

Well everybody knows Kessler is the best at SMW - show me an updated ranking that doesn't have Kessler as the #1 in SMW.

So Mohumbo actually already has the numner one selling single - just need another good band that wants to join his tour :smoke

Not bad, but you know what I mean. Right?

Let me put it in a different way. Two questions.

    1. Who do you think HBO would rather cater to: The 100.000 Americans that knows who Kessler is or the 500.000 Americans that know who Miranda is?

    2. If the following two events were broadcast at the exact same time, would you tune in specifically to watch a Danish Swimmer in a B-final at the World Championships or tune in to watch Radmila Lubrikova in her A-final where she has a good chance to get a bronze?

Why did you make those choices (assuming your choices were like 90% of the population)? Part of it is due to "The Exposure Effect" - a scientifically proven effect that contends that individiuals have a natural avoidancy tendency. As we learn that something is ok, we develop an approach tendency. Another different, but similar effect is "The Incident Effect". The more times we see something we think "I have seen this before", "It must be good". Another theory that supports your (most people's) reaction is the theory of cognitive elaboration. Cognitive Elaboration has a positive realtionship with attitude. So the more we elaborate on something the more we tend to like and prefer it. This is the effect that Advertizing (ab-)uses. This is also the reason why they say that most biased hatred stems from ignorance (e.i. the lack of cognitive elaboration).

Anyway - I didnt mean to get technical here. Just let it suffice that there are very natural reasons why Kessler is having problems getting a superfight and he 'still' (because he is of course not entirely unknown) has to be flexible in negotiations.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. :bbb

Well if Kessler is as unknown as people tend to think - why is it then that HBO has agreed to show Kessler-taylor but they wouldn't show Froch-Taylor?

Kessler has got a good deal with HBO - so now it's just up to Palle to make the fights, then Kessler will be more known soon enough.

As for question 2 - that's a trick question - I'd watch any welltrained girl in a swimsuit...

to stop allt that **** about kessler didnt want to fight miranda. kessler had the chance to become champ again and toke it ,and then hes agant vent to mirandas team 4 making a fight 4 the wba crown but mirandas team wouldnt.the only way miranda is a known boxer is becouse of his big mouth hes i b- fighter that made a good fight with AA and becouse of AA`s broken jaw.(we clearly sav what happent in the secondt fight).Mikkel is only going 4 the big fight and miranda ist a big fighter.Mikkel is also has a very bad back and he is not sure hov many fight left there is in him ,that is why hes team only want to fight the top level fighter( that says the thinks clearly)+H.B.O is bigger than showtime .

It's difficult for Kessler to get a high profile US fighter at present that will fight at SM. For the likes of Hopkins, Taylor, Dawson, Winky and Pavlik the risk/reward scenario just isn’t in their favour at the moment.

If they take the fight and win, Kessler is likely to be labelled as another EuroBum by American casual boxing fans.

If they lose, well they just opened the door for fellow US rivals to get a huge fight against Kessler.

Maybe a fight against Lacy could showcase Kessler’s talent to the American public, in the same way as when Calzaghe fought Manfredo.

For me the only other option Kessler has is to try and unite the SM division again.

Kessler is going to fight in America next year isn't he? Against a fringe contender - Bika, Zuniga?. He KOs the fringe contender, looks good, and it sets up something like Taylor or Pavlik. These 2 names get Kessler well known, are beatable, are middles moving up. And then you have Abraham possibly moving up soon, and Froch establishing himself as WBC champ - 2 marketable and exciting opponents, to have when Kessler is getting his American money.
