This has probably been done about 100 times before, but I´m quit new here and curious to see your lists. Only fighters who fought their entire professional career during last 50 years.

    My list:
    1.Muhammad Ali
    2.Roberto Duran
    3.Ray Leonard
    4.Pernell Whitaker
    5.Marvin Hagler
    6.Carlos Monzon
    7.Julio Caesar Chavez
    8.Thomas Hearns
    9.Evander Holyfield
    10.George Foreman

I´m not so great boxing historian so maybe I´m overrating lot of people like Holyfield.

Not too bad only i'd have Larry Holmes instead of Foreman and swap Monzon and Hagler.

    1. Roberto Duran
    2. Muhammad Ali
    3. Ray Leonard
    4. Pernell Whitaker
    5. Carlos Monzon
    6. Emile Griffith
    7. Luis Manuel Rodriguez
    8. Carlos Ortiz
    9. Alexis Arguello
    10. Roy Jones Jr.

Rough draft, a few of those choices could be switched around depending on your criteria.

I agree with the names on Sweet Pea's list, I'd probably put Jones above Arguello, Ortiz, and Rodriguez though.

Larry Holmes has got to be in there. Throw out Evander or George, he was a far greater fighter holding the heavyweight title for 7 and 1/2 years until they robbed him of it.

Yep -- and I'd like to include Larry Holmes, but that would mean dropping someone which would be hard to jusify.

Thanks to Sweet Pea from your list, like I said, Im quit new fan so I probably overrate fighters who are better known to average fans like fab 4.

The problem with throwing Holy or big George out in favor of Holmes is this: Evander had Tyson, Foreman had Ali, Frazier and an incredible comeback. Holmes had?? Nothing to match that.

Great list. But I would flip flop Aii and Duran, Rodriguez barely misses my cut and I have Holyfield in there at 10.

    F it...here is my list.

    1- Ali
    2- Duran
    3- SRL
    4- Whitaker
    5- Monzon
    6- Giffith
    7- Ortiz
    8- Jones
    9- Arguello
    10- Holyfield

Just as Sweet Pea's list tho, this is really just a "throw together quick" type of thing and could change if we get more specific on the criteria we are looking at.

No, but you can put a natural Lightweight who beat up the second best Welterweight of all time in both of their primes ahead of said Welterweight.
