Rewatched cotto vs. Margarito???

I watched the replay as well, and it become clear to me that Margo wouldnt do well vs fighters that can fight and move at the same time. Cotto isnt really good at doing that but when he did he made Margo look really bad. The 8th round was a perfect example of that. Cotto's problem and it will also be the reason that he will lose the rematch is he isnt a boxer, for all the moving that he did he could only punch once his feet were set, and he looked clumsy tring to move away once he was done..I guess Margo's team has been smart in keeping him out of the ring with BOXERS, guys that can use the jab and dont have to set their feet to get off shots, he wouldnt fair well vs those kinds of fighters, he needs guys like Cintron, Clottey, Cotto that will be there for him to hit.

Second thing that I noticed is that the fight wasnt as one sided at the start as I remembered, I think I got caught up in how the HBO guys were riding Cotto's balls. Last night I scored the fight and actaully gave Margo 3 of the first 6 rounds and pretty much every round after that except the 8th.

 

I have been saying that Marg is very beatable, Im going on a limb and saying it. Mosley beats Marg by UD .

Where does that put PW? #5? Give me a ****in break. If you can continue to rank Shane in the 147s after he fought Mayorga, then you absolutely have to Rank PW there as well.

Margo is good, but he ain't the man no matter how much you, selfkill, aztek, and freddywak try to proclaim. Unfinished business.

How can you dumb shits Rank Cotto at #2, yet put Clottey at #4?????

Cotto got bludgeoned by Margo, yet Clottey more thn held his own against Margo. I think it's a real bias working here that keeps ranking Cotto above people like Clottey. He would beat the ****in breaks off of Cotto.

 

Yeah I said that all along, Clottey is a bad fight for Cotto. As is Williams, which is the reason that when people were saying that the winner of Williams Margo would have got a fight with Cotto I said NO WAY, Arum had already said that Cotto wouldnt fight Williams.

5-Pac-dont think that he would beat many under him.

Without Williams they all move up one and Collazo moves in at 10

 

I rewatched the Clottey-Coralles fight on ESPN classic last night. I don't think Cotto has a chance against that fool. Everyone talks about Cotto's stunning KO power... Who the **** has he beaten to death at 147 to make people think he can just beat the **** out of PW and JC?

Your 1-4 reflects win-loss and head to head results. It doesn't take into account any of the biases like "He's from my country" and "he's good for boxing because of his style" and "he's a warrior with heart and a classy guy who has earned it" type bull****.

Rank them by Wins-loss and H2H results.:good

 

I guess until Williams sets a fight at 147 again he won't be ranked there. He hasn't been there in two fights.

 

You can only rank the guys that Margarito (or anybody else) has beaten on where they were ranked at the time.

 

Yep, I tend to agree. Margarito can look like a trundler for long periods, very slow and lacking defence. But I guess thats his thing, he's relentless in that approach and keeps going until he eventually wears you down and out, or until the pace slows and he can outwork you down the stretch.

I still think he'd be in big trouble against somebody that can do what Cotto did for a longer period. Cotto just needed that little bit more gas in the tank and durability. I'm sure Mayweather could do it. And Williams in a different way should beat him again. He nullifies Margarito's work-rate with his own, along with his quicker hands and formidable length.

But why do you need Ring Magazine to tell you who the top fighters in the division are? You can see for yourself.

 

Regardless of how they lost, Cotto and Clottey both have L's on their records at the hands of Margarito. Cotto has beaten 3 fighters currently in The Ring magazine's top 10. Clottey has beaten one. Putting Clottey ahead of Cotto, based on 4 rounds of a 12 round fight is a bit ridiculous.

 

I had Cotto winning the fight at the time of the stoppage, winning a majority of the rounds.

Cotto was boxing effectively ...

 

Margarito started to show wear after the 6th round and was showing hurt from Cotto's punches ...

The two determining factors were Cotto's broken nose and Margarito's conditioning

IMO, Magarito's chin should be studied by the world's top scientist and maybe NASA as it is seemingly the strongest material on Earth.

Cotto was hitting him with perfect shots and Margo didn't blink. Cotto made Zab look like he got hit by a high speed coal truck with the same stuff. Had to be disheartening for Cotto to keep on chopping but could not make a dent.
