This would be a huge mistake on Arreola's managements part. Granted, you should always take the shot when it's offered because you don't know when you might get another shot. But, Arreola could actually present some issues for Wlad if Arreola could get another two or three fights under his belt against legit top ten competition. Obviously he needs to get in shape also. If he comes in sloppy against any legit top ten fighter, he will be wiped on the mat.

I do think that this last fight with Walker was a decent learning experience for Arreola. He found out that if he doesn't come into the ring in better shape that he will get KTFO. He admitted as much after the fight. Also, he learned that he doesn't have a chin of absolute iron and will have to fight with a little bit more defense. I did get the impression from Arreola that he does have decent skills in the ring to go along with the obvious power.
If he simply worked on getting in shape, fight a little bit more defensively and continue to develop his combination and counterpunching skills over the next two or three fights that he could be a dangerous fighter for anyone.
To throw him directly in against Wlad at this time is just not what he should do if he wants long term success.

I do also have to say that Wlad's people possibly see this and want to get Arreola out of the way before he is fully matured, which is smart but rather shitty also.

He has beaten Damian Wills, Travis Walker and Chazz Witherspoon, and is hyped by HBO.

Arreola, however, should be tested by Peter/Austin/Dimitrenko before fighting Wladimir Klitschko.

But he's definitely a better opponent than Carl Davis Drummond or Evander Holyfield.

Arreola can win, but only if he carefully follows my master plan.

    1. Time to take a trip to the High Altitude Mountains of either Big Bear or Mexico. He needs to start running his ass off at high altitudes. Last time out he looked ridiculous, physically, and probably was cardiovascuarly prepared for about 5-6 rounds. He needs to prepare to fight hard for 12. He needs to drop 20 pounds by May. 235 is a good weigh in weight for him.

    2. Defense and Mobility. He needs to hire a Freddie Roach or a Roger Mayweather, and learn how to move his head, and his feet in the ring. He fights like a caveman, and that would not work against Waldo. He needs to learn how to block, dodge, parry and counter punches from Waldo.

    3. He needs to come up with a gameplan to NEUTRALIZE Waldo's jab. Do not let him get into a rhythym. Fight like Ruiz and Hopkins. Dirty and lots of clinching and hugging. An inside fight, mostly on the ropes.

He is going to be entering his 30th fight.

He's had his share of tomato cans already.

HBO might be pushing him towards Wlad because they have invested some loot in his way ala, his fights and ring life.

He's not manning up, and saying that it's not his choice.

He's supposed to be the ruler of division, but his daddy ViTKLiT calls the shots.

...........he's not nearly as good as everyone had hoped.....

Arreola does need to progress to the next level, not leap past the level(s) between Walker and Wladimir. That is going from the C/D level, and jumping to the best opponent out there....... And the B/C levels are a wide and varied landscape where Arreola would, more than likely, get his ass beaten by fighters much lower than Wladimir is..........But to go from Walker, (and getting dropped after a first round pasting) all the way up to the best in the game in Wladimir..........Pfffft. Arreola won't see round 4.

And I venture to say a 46 year old Holy would beat Arreola by quite a margin.

Arreola has to be one of the the worst heavyweights to ever get this much hype and promotion by a major network like HBO. I'f like to see them put him in there with in a fight with Evander, Ibragimov, Austin, Peter, or Thompson. All of which, I think Arreola would lose.

Arreola is not that good, he really is a poor man's Sam Peter. The guy's overall boxing ability is so flawed it's not even funny, the only thing this guy seems to have is good power and a heart to match, which I dont think is enough to beat Wlad at this point.

Am I the only one that thinks it's pretty funny that Wlad continues to take on lame competition, while his brother is challenging and preparing to face the fighters that people want to see him fight. Wlad continues to shoot himself in the foot, while after a 4 year departure from the ring, Vitali still gets more respect and higher praises than his mentally and physically smaller brother.

No Pun, you are not the only one to realize it. Many boxing fans everywhere, are taking notice of the KLiT FLiP. It's a strategy that can be employed differently in different situations...this is just the latest version.

I didnt think I was the only one, the KLiT FLiP could also go in favor of Wlad, the fact that he faced/knocked out Bryd and Rahman when Vitali could or wouldnt, should also come into play.

You may disagree with what I'am going to say, but I honestly believe Vitali is what a fighter should be in the ring, tough as nails, great chin, willing to go shot for shot with bigger bangers than himself and only once failed to get the knockout, and that was against one of the greatest fighters of my generation in Lennox Lewis. I actually respect Vitali for what he has done in the ring, something I cant say for his brother.

I don't care what anybody says. Chris-Wlad will be very exciting while it lasts. Chris has tremendous heart, great chin and is a good, very active puncher. He admitted to Barry Tomkins, while doing color commentary for the Toney-Oquendo fight that "Wlad is a great fighter. The guy makes you fight his fight." This shows he will be unwilling to passively allow Wlad to just control the fight from distance. He will make things happen even if it means repeatedly charging Wlad, risking getting K.O'ed. I can't wait for this fight. It will be all action and Wlad will be forced to go to battle, especially in the early rounds. Lateral movement will get Wlad out of trouble at times but Chris is a huge guy and if Wlad clinches it could be him that starts getting tossed around. Chris respects Wlad's skills and that's what makes him dangerous.
