Marquez has pac number, Ain't no way pac can get the best counter puncherer in the business. I reckon MAnny has to drop him with plenty of time on the clock. He can't outbox the best boxer today..Jmm showed in the rematch he can also take out Pac. So possibly TKO is on the cards for Jmm. Skills and technique beats aggression and speed.
Assuming he can survive The Baby Bull and The Galaxxy Warrior, why not? That means Marquez will be a unified champion and for Pac's legacy, it is not at all to beat a old customer. :good Perhaps, in 2010, if Marquez is still in one piece by then.
....If JMM learns to stand up all the time and for a change does not kiss the canvass which is already a tradition I'll give JMM a chance! fair enough?! but at a comfortable weight of 140lbs.. I seriously dought if jmm can handle him..
The longer the wait for Marquez, the less of a chance I give him to win. He's already sliding a tad in terms of his speed.
Let's say JMM gets the nod the 3rd time around. This makes the trilogy 1-1-1. (OFFICIALLY FOLKS! Not who "you think" won, but who the judges give the OFFICIAL binding decision to) Would you want to see Pac/JMM 4?
To bad for MARQUEZ he cant dictate! Here's the catch! JMM needs PAC more than PAC needs JMM! :deal PAC resume is more interesting than JMM JMM needs a "W" from Pac to make it really interesting I suggest you tell JMM to get in the line. He had his turn 2x ALREADY! He blew it! So this time he has to wait for his turn. CHEERS!
With PAC's current performance i would pick him, but like most people would say JMM is already shot if he lose and will go back again to the neverending thread about who won on their 2nd fight. :-(
Lets not forget that Pac had been weighing in the mid 140's for his junior lightweight fights. He was at 148 lbs for his fight with DLH. My guess would be that he weighed in clothed for that unofficial weighin and was actually just under the welterweight limit. The only thing these weight climbs are saving Pac from is that he does'nt have to dehydrate to make weight. From his days at 130 lbs and now at 147 lbs, the difference in weight when he actually climbs into the ring is likely less than 5 lbs. If they fight at 140 lbs, Pac actually wont have more than a 5 lbs weight advantage on JMM.......not that significant when you conclude that JMM's skill level and cerebral ability to make in-ring adjustments, are still levels above that of Pacquiao. Who the heck knows how each fighter will take to fighting as Juniorwelters.......JMM looked really strong physically against Casamayor. His shots were moving Casa......another fight against Juan Diaz will have JMM more acclamated to fighting a lightweight. .....I think the best thing to do would be to wait to see what happens in that Diaz fight......if JMM is able to blast Diaz out of there, which would not be out of the question, we may be actually seeing a fighter who's actually better suited to fight at a higher weight than he has been....... ......do you all remember what happened to another aging fighter that lost to Jermaine Taylor twice because of a poor workrate. After being at 160 lbs his whole career (he must have been depleting himself physically to make that weight for so long)....that old-timer came to life when he climbed up to 175 lbs and schooled Antonio Tarver. Lately, he took a p4p'er Kelly Pavlik to the woodshed! Some guy by the name of Bernard Hopkins! Lets see what this Juan Diaz fight does for JMM......alot of people maybe changing their tune in regards to who that weight climb for a third fight benefits, Pac or JMM!:yep I say take the third fight all the way up to 147 lbs, the higher the weight, the more it benefits the boxer imo!
JMM losing some speed may partially be true.......but it was also true from the 1st fight to the 2nd, and it did'nt make a difference......the fights went along the same lines. When I look at the 1st and 2nd fights between JMM and Pac. I actually think that the JMM who fought Pac at 130 lbs was less moved by Pac's shots. ......and like I said in my previous post, he looked to be able to take alot better shot vs Casa at 135 lbs. JMM got hit by Casa, but he did'nt look at all phased by any of it. With the weight climb, is coming a better ability to absorb a punch for JMM. Both JMM and Pac will lose a little speed with the climb. But what we may see is a situation where because of the added body mass, JMM will take Pac's shots much better. .......if JMM absorbs Pac's shots much better, I dont think that increases Pac's chances......to the contrary, it decreases it imo. Its harder for a fighter to take his power up when he climbs up in weight.....he's hitting more mass. .....but the added mass makes him better able to absorb punishment. Case in point......Diego Corrales was routinely being dropped in his fights at 130 lbs and 135 lbs....... Diego who is a puncher, climbed up to 147 lbs and could'nt put a dent on Joshua Clottey, but if I'm not mistaken, he got hammered by Clottey but never went down, lasting the distance. Corrales' punch resistance increased with the mass he put on. Lets wait and see, it may turn out the opposite of what alot of you guys think!:hey
I was wrong when I predicted Marquez will lose to Casamayor but the latter has declined throughout the years. He actually lost to slow Sta. Cruz w/ an average skills. He was lucky enough to beat Katsidis w/ boxer's punch. With Juan Diaz, I don't think Marquez can survive the onslaughts of this young and hungry pugilist. Marquez may have met his match in Diaz. I won't be surprised if Diaz will knock him out in the middle rounds. Marquez is pressured to win this fight. Except Pac, Marquez has been fed w/ tomato cans like Jandaeng and Jaca and senile boxers like Barrera and Casa. Now, this time he will be tested by Diaz. The law of average is against him. He will lose this match against Diaz.
Pac is getting better technically and physically w/ each fight. Pac is definitely a more complete fighter in JMM2 as compared to JMM1. Pac has already acclimated himself in the l40-147 by coming up the ring as welterweight. He will win decisively this time by KO or a lopsided UD. But as Divac said, this assessment can be confirmed by the results of JMM's fight agaist Diaz.
On the other hand, I guess JMM could handle Juan Daiz. He is not as tough as projected earlier by some members of the esb. They said baby bull will ram on PAC. DAMN! Baby Bull did not even pass Grand PAPA Nate who is already 36 yrs old! I hope JMM wins coz if he losses. I guess he losses his ticket to fight PAC. On the other hand, if DIAZ wins in a fashionable way, it could lead to possible ticket to fight PAC in case PBF decides to stay retired. The only reason I want JMM to win is to make sure the JMM vs PAC will take place. A loss by JMM will mostlikely mean good bye to pac vs jmm III
