This would be a conflict of interest for me as Pac is my #1 favorite fighter and Berto being my #2. My objectionable opinion is that Berto natural size, speed, power, and stamina would present challenges and problems to Pac that he never saw against Oscar. Pac doesn't belong in the welter weight division, at least not yet and if he were to fight Berto then Berto would properly introduce him to what it's like to fight at a higher weight.

Berto by UD perhaps late stoppage.

    Manny.

Berto is nowhere near being ready for that stage yet.

Berto, Cotto, and Margarito are to big, young, and hungry for Pac. Pac can maybe take on Boldimor or Gatti.

First and foremost the boxing game is now more about dollars then it is about match ups. Thus, Berto is still not there yet, name recognition wise. When he gets by a Collazo type, then his name will be thrown in the hat for bigger fights. However, if they were to fight today I agree that Berto is just too natural, too young, too busy and too good at Welterweight for Pac Man to be as effective as he was against Oscar. This analogy is a lot like Roy Jones beating a small heavyweight like Ruiz to be considered a heavyweight champion. Roy may have been able to fight Evander or even Tyson, but he would have been risking suicide against the really big heavyweights (much like Manny against a Margorito or Williams or Berto).

That is just too much of a matchup, no ones saying berto is better than pac p4p but the size difference coupled with bertos speed and workrate make this a poor choice for pacman.

    Pac wide UD.

everyone is talking about Berto's offence but lets talk about PAc's offence a little bit. What can Berto do to stop Pac? He doesn't have the ability to avoid Pac's punches and will be eating straight left hands all night long. Pac is amazing at getting off first and Berto can't tell the difference between a feint and an actual punch. Against someone with the speed of Pac he will not be able to react. Pac will be out of range and then jumping in and out like he always does, landing at a high connect rate. Berto doesn't have the style or ability to use his size advantage. All he can rely on is handspeed which is significant but for Pac having moved up from smaller weights where everyone has fast hands, Berto is gonna be just average speed. Conversely, Berto will never have faced anyone with the speed of Pacquiao. Also Berto doesn't get the kind of extension on his punches to land consistanly on someone who is at arms length. Pac will stay out of range and potshot in combinations and turn Berto like a dradle.

If Berto was a power puncher at 147, i would give him more of a chance, but he just isn't. And he isn't that much bigger either.

Pacquiao would be in the ring with a naturally bigger guy, who seems to have good power, and very fast hands. That is a recipe for disaster for Pacquiao who, despite being very good at 135 below, would get eaten by most if not all of the top 10 147lb fighters in the world. Berto would stop Pacquiao fairly early in my opinion.

You guys need to wake the **** up ,, Pac beating Berto at 147 !?!?!? Pac is not a ****ing welter wight !!!! Berto on the other hand is , and he's is one of the bigger welters in the devision and he allot stronger then Pac and he's fast, Those two qualities alone spell trouble for Pac being the smaller man.

Berto would have also killed the shell called Oscar, worse then Pac did that night.
