Yeah, but this is partly because after the Lennox fight Vitali continued boxing and polish up his record. You don't know how any of the opponents of Wlad will continue boxing and polish up their records.

This is the main reason why Lennox opponents are considered better: Because after they fought Lewis they continued boxing whereas Wlad's opponents didn't have enough time yet.

 

i give wlad a punchers chance, besides that lewis is equal/better in every category (and i am a huge wlad fan). i think the 2002 version (wlad 1.0) would have the best chance vs. lewis. he could land something big in the first four rounds (if mccall and rahman could do it, why not wlad?) whilst now (2.0) he would make it a boxing match and get worn down by the more resilient lewis.

These days there are far few decent fighters with your supposed 'bummy' records - other than Glen Johnson I can't think of anyone.... much more padding these days.

Many of Wlad's non-bum wins are guys with padded records. People like Eliseo Castillo, Fabio Eduardo Moli, Danell Nicholson and Zoran Vujecic. I mean who the **** are they? They may not have lost more than 25% of their career fights but there records are padded as hell and they're bums as well.

All this... and his number of title defenses... and he is only 32 year old.

McCline was never a top heavy anyway. The Byrd win is a good one but guys like Peter, Brock, Thompson and Ibragimov wouldn't even be top 10 contenders in the 90's.

 

Is that right?! I don't think so. Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, Holmes & Tyson all fought many bums leading up to & during their respective reigns.

 

Eliseo Castillo was an undefeated fighter, who moved up to Heavyweight beat the living **** out of Michael Moorer. Nobody knew too much about him, because he didn't run his mouth like David Haye. However, his win over Moorer was much more impressive than Haye's sloppy win over Monte Barrett. If you follow boxing, and still don't know who Nicholson is... then you aren't following it very well. He was in the mix quite a bit, and was ranked as high as #3 by the IBF.

 

Hasim Rahman - Former undisputed Champion, knocked out Lewis. YEAH and then a fully focused lewis who wasn't filming oceans 11 koed hasim rahman in four rounds, which was quicker than wlad seven rounds.
