In some cases stats do make careers.

But tell that to someone like Glen Johnson.

Lennox could put the pressure he would need to win.

    Competetive fight, while it last.

Clearly you didn't notice that my reply was sarcasm.

For once we agree, FINALLY. A Lewis uppercut finishes Wlad off when he tries to clinch once too often. Wlad has very little chance against a prime Lewis because, as you state, Lewis has everything Wlad has and is just a tougher more fluid fighter.

Lewis on points. He usually preferred to box when he could and only when for knockouts when he was really wound up or got a big opportunity. He wasn't a risk taker.

Against a defensive jabber like Wlad who doesn't put much aggressive pressure out I think we'd see a safe and intelligent, if a little lacklustre points win for Lewis.

Wlad has an uppercut, but he doesn't use it.

I, personally think that the uppercut he used against Brewster is the punch that broke his jaw.

I think that's correct. It simply hasn't been there in his last few fights. If he learns to use it on the inside rather than just hold on for dear life then he'd be a much more dangerous fighter. However with Wlad's safety first attitude I just don't see it happening.

The reason he doesn't use it is the same reason he doesn't go to the body. He doesn't want to take excessive risk.

At 6'7, I would be head hunting too.

The main reason I see Wlad winning is because when he gets knocked down he gets back up to fight.

When Lewis has been knocked down he hasn't been able to continue.

Throughout his career he has thrown looping shots. With Wladimir Klitschko you can't throw a looping shot and not pay for it.

    Major fail.

He was ready to carry on against McCall.

you think wlad would beat lewis despite the fact he has shown nothing really in his whole career to prove this. Lewis is far stronger with a far better inside game i think wlad would be lucky to see the 4th round.

Maskaev did not fight for a long time because of injury.
Peter was busy with Toney first, then McCline, then Maskaev and then had to fight Vitali, a fight he took 9 months to prepare for?
Valuev wasn't going to fight him, he's more of a freak-show anyway.

Wlad could theoretically still take the Ring belt if Chagaev came back...I guess.

    I don't know if it's a fail.

He fell forward into the the ref.

In either case, he was stopped without getting the chance to continue to fight after he was knocked down.

Wlad was at least allowed to continue to keep fighting after he was knocked down multiple times until the end when it was apparent he couldn't continue.

Absolutely. which is why I say ask this question again in a few years, assuming Wlad does not lose again, and the answer might very well be completely different.
I am though very much bewildered that so many of Wlad's opponents drop off the face of the earth following their loss. So far the only enduring name on Wlad's resume have been Peter, Byrd and McCline. This of course prompts many questions regarding the quality of boxers Wlad's opponents were in the first place and there's really only two possibilities...they realize what it means to fight the #1 guy and run or they were hype jobs that cashed in and despeared.

What specifically are you referring to?

I see your point re McCall, but think he should have been allowed to continue - it wasn't as if he did a Zab......

The Wlad thing, if he was dropped whilst being in no position to carry on it just shows inept refereeing.

Ricky Hatton was unfit to continue against Floyd but for some reason was allowed to.
