I saw him fight back in 07 on the David Diaz vs Morales undercard. He destroyed some bum from Indiana. JCC Jr looked pretty good, but his opponent just stood there and let him rip shots of all night.

JCC Jr is a very large welterweight. I don't think he'll suffer any issues in moving up to 154 to fight Oscar. I don't even know how he makes 147 quite frankly, he's a big kid. He fights like his father, and that is a mistake because when he fight's a really skilled boxer, someone is going to flat out detonate a serious combination on his chin. He does have quite a decent chin if you ask me though, but Oscar even now could almost certainly hit him accurately enough to hurt him. The problem is that this kid actually does have impressive body punches and could hurt Oscar. But that's the only tool that is solid in his repertoire. He's shown decent improvement and development, but it's near impossible to tell because he really has been fighting tomato cans. He's also been fighting fighters that have almost all been MUCH smaller than him. Putting him in there with someone that is someone that big like Oscar would be a dramatic step up.
The road to greatness for JCC jr goes thru baldomir, mitchel, corley and then ODLH. What's bob thinking!
I'm a huge fan of floyd, and watched all 39 fights. But at the end of the day he did cherry pick. I don't believe it was because he was a coward necessarily though because I think he was just trying to get to really profitable fights by not risking much.
Despite his poor resume of opponent Chavez has taken far too many shots for my liking. Depsite it being farcical a fight with De La Hoya seems to be a possibility. Chavez Jnr would show no self-discipline whatsoever and would - in my opinion - get knocked out inside eight rounds. However, it does remain to be seen what kind of damage the Pacquaio defeat has caused De La Hoya. Not only was he beaten up but the guy looked ill and seemed to age pretty damn quickly. Bottom line: if he sorts his training camp out he outclasses Chavez Jnr. Boxing will be none the wiser no matter who is victorious.
i like the kid,jr. really hasnt done anything to warrant a shot a dlh tho, while it makes perfect sense fo oscar to want th fight i dnt see jr.'s handlers letting it happen, not if they want him to continue a lost to dlh would ruin the value of his name, on the other hand his career need to have a dlh win on it at sometime
I have. Against THIS VERSION of Oscar he has a hell of a shot of a KO. Against the Oscar of 1996, he would have gotten beat. But the Oscar who "No Mas'd" it on December 6th, is not the perfect fighter his gay ass fanbase makes him out to be. :rasta
He's alright.... nothing too special. His left hook to the body kind of looks like his old mans. A good matchup for DLH at this point. People will come to watch, and if junior has enough rage and thirst for vengeance it could be interesting.
