Some pundits say that Ricky Hatton has one of the most padded records of the current top fighters. When he fought Floyd he was hyped up as unbeaten at 43-0. He had more fights than Floyd but whom had he really fought besides Tszyu and a shot Castillo? Don't say Ben Tackie who was coming off two losses. Others are upstarts and unknowns. There was a good two or three year period when Hatton was simply treading water. Obviously we know this was a only money making exercise for him and Warren fighting bums in his motherland. Was there ever a fighter who made 15 defences of the WBU belt? You bet it is only Hatton. His latest feats: Malignaggi TKO - a bum who was stopped by his owner corner when he refused to throw punches Lazcano UD- a mediocre fighter whom he can't even knocked out. Mayweather - embarassing knock out when his head hit the post. If ever Pac wins convincingly, his detractors will surely bring his fight records up that he is not the real deal as he can't even win a fight in the welterweight. IMO, he can be a good match w/ Pac, though.
And Pac detractors will say he has been KTFO twice by 2 non entities and his last fight beat an opponent who put in a woeful performance. :hi:
You're right. Those came from Pac detractors who always bring up his losses when he was a young teenager. But apparently, these losses did not deter Pac to achieve world class status by fighting 4 future HOFs and by being according the #1 P4P title in the boxing world. :hi:
Well done to him for beating 4 HOF'ers. So...... Given that you have tried your damnest to discredit Hatton, should Ricky win..... what will you think of that? Furthermore........ if Pac wins, where will you rank it on his resume? I bet you £5 it is high.
His padded records are according to some boxing writers. That's why there is a question mark on my thread. His being a good match up w/ Pac is my opinion. But if you ask my opinion on who will win? Pac, of course, because of his speed.
I disagree with this thread. Hatton beat world p4p#3 Tszyu with a magnificent performance, is a 2-weight world champion, has only lost once and that was to the best fighter in the world at the time, and his win over Malignaggi was fantastic in my opinion. I think you're way off the mark on this one Mr Thread-Starter. PS: I don't actually like Hatton though, I rate him as an excellent lww but he's not my type of fighter, and I think Pac will cut him to ribbons.
Read my post very well before you make a comment. Read the title of the thread and the question mark after it? Read that it is not my opinion. But I tend to believe that these pundits are right in the sense that he stayed in the light welters for so long and he can't beat anyone in the welterweight. In other words, he is a mediocre and overly hyped fighter. If he beat Pac? Let him do that first. If Pac wins? It means he exposed an overly hyped up fighter. Probably good for his resume like Diaz and dela Hoya wins.
