Totally agree.......IMO if Pac beats Hatton then it will be his biggest achievement in boxing thus far, v.big scalp to beat someone who has never lost at 140 and someone who has been the best at 140 for some time.

he's overrated, and he has a padded record......but he's still a very good fighter (@ 140 atleast), he's no ATG, or any other type of great, nor a HOF'er but.....he's still very good, Pac's gonna murder him, but........he's still a very good fighter

Hatton's record will pale in comparison to Cotto's. He held multiple titles in the lightwelter and welterweight divisions. He may have lesser fights than Hatton but he held two weight division titles. You chose the wrong fighter to compare w/.

Hattons had easy fights but that doesnt take away from the significant victories he has had. Most boxers records are padded to some degree.

whats the betting he's scurried off to boxrec to check, and he'll come back with a response making out he knew all along?

    Hatton unified LWW as well......

But for Lazcano pulling out with a bad hand in '06 though he wouldn't have moved to welter.

A Hatton vs Cotto fight wouldn't have been a contest at that stage because the Rican was dead at 140...... he was talking plenty of trash prior to the Tszyu fight about Ricky not going four rounds.

    Never heard anything after that.

You're right. He won once at WBA welter. Then he went back to light welter. That's retrogression. Why did he not defend that title against the big welter boys? Did he chicken out in that weight division? He does not have the heart of champion after all.

    His mandatory was Otkay Urkal.

Common sense would tell you to vacate......

    Incorrect. Fact.

Please elaborate... given that Tszyu and his camp never mentioned such after the fight

    And...?

So how far off prime do you think Kostya was? Given that he was top 5 P4P at the time? And a nailed on favourite to win the fight?

No he wasnt. Past peak yes. Shot? No

I'll give you that one. But prior to the fight the detractors were saying Paulie would be too slick. Nobody predicted that Malignaggi would be stronger so your point is irrelevant.

Now this line has a ring of truth to it. Pac is a better boxer than Hatton. I'm a massive Hatton fan but I'll conceded that. Pac being P4P #1 is evidence in itself. But as already mentioned, Pac faced a handpicked lightweight and a shell of a welterweight. He will be facing #1 LWW who is near to peak. That's a task.
