Ali was a great fighter, fast and confident, somewhat overated in some circles but he was a master at beating the big, slow, punchers...greatest feet since Tunney and better , self confidence amazing....As a person I think he was a good man but as a young man brainwashed by the Black Muslims who were a street gang, they took him for a ton of money as well as his mind for a spell...but one of the greatest self promoters ever and top 3 heavys of all time

 

Anyone suggesting Ali was/is a paedo is talking bollocks and has no evidence at all.

It is a pretty disgusting accusation to throw at anyone without proof, never mind someone like Ali.

Someone earlier saud to watch for the outpouring of grief when we lose him and I agree it will me immense!

Brits are not known for showing their emotions (cept for that moment of insanity during the organised, pathetic grief fest for ****ing Diana!) but this country loved him. I remeber Ali commenting that he never felt so loved as he does in Britain and that his own country don't like him. That will be proved when that sad day comes.

I have been upset by the deaths of several sports people or celebs but only the deaths of two sportsmen would really crush me and bring me to tears. Two very complicated and flawed people but two people who belong to the minute group I could realistically call genius. George Best and Muhammed Ali!

Nobody is perfect & Ali had a mean streak in him - as do most ATG fighters - he was no saint outside the ring but there were FAR worse fighters doing FAR worse things outside the ring.

All in all, Id say Muhammad Ali was much more good than bad, I believe most of his intentions were of a good nature.


In the ring, he was certainly a blessed man - my favourite ever boxer - I feel he edges Joe Louis as the best ever HWT & is a clear top 5 or 6 p4p ATG - I personally have him at no2 behind Robinson but guys like Pep & Armstrong have a good case for that spot also.

Can someone explain the link between of Charlie Magri and soridness, I just finished reading his autobiography and dont remember anything to do with sordidity (yup, I just made that word up).
