hatton is the best @ 140. just because they fought at 147 doesn't mean it was not sugnificant. does hopkins get beraded for fighting pavlik? same thing just double standards.

I don't think they need each other but it would be fight that PBF can get a win easily.

Then maybe we'll finally stop hearing these Margarito bandwagon jumpers.

I can see it now ... everything that Margarito has accomplished will get thrown out of the window and then the questions of why he was in the ring with PBF will start being asked.

    Spot on Mate!!!

The thing is he brings heat on himself by coming out with big talk and not backing it up

It's not a question of whether he needs Margarito or not, the facts are Mayweather talks doo doo then goes into hiding and then now he wants to call out Pacman and Hatton and no disrespect to Hatton and Pacman but Floyd would more than likely have their number if they did fight in 2009.

I hold no respect for this dudes mentality, insecurity is apparent if we are talking about Floyd.

He does need Margarito because without fighting him his legacy is a %ucking pantomine You are remembered for what you do just as much at the end of your career more so to what you do on the way to the top and whilst in the 147 division he has not backed up his talk

If he never came out with bold statements over the years he would have got away with not fighting a top WW but as he is still trying to steal the limelight and call out the wrong people he leaves the doors open for discussion.

I hope we get to see Margarito vs Mayweather because it would be a Mega Fight and it would sell itself and I can guarantee Floyd would elevate himself into legendary status even more so than now because everyone knows how tough margo is and he brings it and I dont think Floyd has ever fought someone who is that big who would bring it like Margarito...

    Castillo
    Judah
    Corrales
    Baldomir
    Gatti
    De La Hoya

None of these fighters can bring it to him like Margarito can or Paul Williams for that matter.

So put up or Shut the **** up simple...

I think people need to lay off Floyd. If he would've fought Margarito 2-3 years ago a victory wouldn't have meant much. Margarito gained significance by beating Cotto. Also, let's not forget, this is the same Margarito that's ducking Paul Williams, so maybe Floyd haters need to look at this from a non-biased perspective.

He is inactive and retired, posts with his name should be in the classic forum.

you keep banging on about Santos, shut the hell up and come out with a better logical argument because its getting boring, he ****ing beat santos but lost a decision.

If Mayweather lost you would probably commit suicide

I heard they signed Mayweather vs. Pac vs Hatton in a 3 way battle to the death with Nikolay Valuev as special guest referee.

Margarito will never be able to beat Floyd and if they fight and he loses it wouldn't do anything for Floyd legacy.

I still think they should fight ... Maybe Floyd can fight him as a tune up.

Margarito is just now getting some pub ... now just take his recognition now and time that by 10 and you'll get PBF's career.

    Floyd stops Margarito

Im glad someone has made this point, it is exactly showing you that Mayweathers camp is full of cheerleaders who just egg on his ego. Pretty much another Roy Jones Situation, when he got found out it just went from bad to worse but at least Roy Jones had the balls to fight the guys calling him out, i.e. Tarver, he didn't need Tarver, Tarver needed him. In the same breath margarito doesn't need floyd,, floyd needs margarito, thats the way I see it because he will gain true respect for taking a risk more so than anything... regardless of whether he won or lost.

Wouldn't you have an ego if you never been beaten as a pro or never came close to losing officially.

    Mayweather also works hard ...

Forget about media hype and who's fighting on what channel, Floyd is a HBO pampered fighter we all know that, so whether Margarito is only starting to get recognition now is not the issue. He has been grafting for years and the only reason Floyd is where he is, is because he has attributes and skills that surpass the average fighter but one skill he Attribute he is lacking is true Bottle, this guy has no bottle and he is afraid, pretrified of losing his precious 0 record and for this reason he is afraid to really challenge himself which is why I could never respect this man, I respect his skills but thats it.

Only 1 time has he stepped up to the plate on HBO and won and that was against Cotto ... other times he was either put in position to win and lost or he was used in the roll as a stepping stone.

He was supposed to be a stepping stone for Cotto ...

Stepping stones fight more undefeated guys that established guys because they're being put in the role to give the undefeated guy a hard fight but lose and in some cases (like against Cotto) the stepping stone wins.

Margarito played his role against Santos and Williams, but didn't play his role against Cotto and Cintron.

Margarito is going to fufill his role against Shane Mosley and it will set Mosley up for another big fight.

yes I would have an ego if I had never challenged myself or faced a serious challenge because that is how ego's come about, you get everybody telling you your the best and nobody can beat you and he has taken this to another level to the point where he feels he does not even need to fight the best in order to prove that he is the best, in my opinion I think that guys like this once they do lose will disappear just like Hamed did, his ass was owned by Barrera and I can see the same thing happening to Floyd once he decides to man up and show that he has got balls after all. He has fought a bunch of fighters were assessed and disected to make floyd look better than he actually is. He has convinced himself that he does not need to take any risks since he has already fooled everyone around him. He has come into the 147 division and pussied out of anything that could of elevated him to a totally untouchable level, up there with the Ali's of the boxing world IMO...As long as this plum is still fighting in this division it is just common sense that you fight the best, otherwise what is the point. why are we supporting mis matches.
