Prime Tyson really would've been hell for any fighter, it's a shame he went off the rails before he had a chance to face Holyfield in 91-92 as I think Tyson would've taken him back then.
I don't believe I'm being overly harsh on Tyson's competition but I'll agree Spinks wasn't the best fighter he beat, I would give that honour to Tony Tucker or Frank Bruno.
As for Waldo, I can understand some of the obvious Klit-fanatic baiting that you, Suge White, and Punisher excel at, and I find it humourous as well, but there also seems to be a great deal of genuine dislike for the guy, which I am surprised about.
Be as it may, I'm still confident Wlad will retire with a strong case for top10 ATG at HW.

I also thought Pinklon Thomas was an under-rated win for Tyson, watch the fight again on youtube if you get chance, Thomas was definately a live opponent. There were a few others he fought too that gave Holmes good fights but Tyson just walked through them but this is something that repeats itself in any era (WALDO V Mercer compared to Lewis V Mercer is another example)

I assure you I have no dislike of WALDO as a person, none whatsoever. I don't like his brother at all, I think he's a disrespectful ***** but WALDO as a human being is OK by me. Funnily enough there have been suggestions on this site recently that WALDO has a similar opinion of his brother that I do :hey

As for Bruno, you're going to hate me for saying this but I've always believed he'd give WALDO hell just like Tyson would. I watched Bruno his whole career and I never saw him lose a battle of the jabs, even against Lewis. I'd actually give a pre-Steward WALDO a lot more chance of winning than the current version.

So you blame wlad for fighting Austin, Thompson, and Rahman...you know those were all mandatories right?. Blame the sanctioning bodies for those fights....not Wlad. Wlad continues to fight TOP 10 guy after TOP 10 guy...how is that a bad thing?

Thomas was a good boxer and that was a strong win for Tyson. Out of curiosity, who do you consider the best fighter Tyson beat?
I knew you didn't have any dislike for Wlad as a person, the genuine dislike I was referring to was from boxing fans in general, not necessarily you, Suge, or Punisher, although I think I may have mistakenly inferred that I meant you guys.
I really like Bruno as fighter and I agree he would give Wlad a tough fight, but I think that while Bruno's jab is strong, Waldo has the best jab I've ever seen. Bruno certainly has the power to KO Klitschko, but he lacked the hand speed necessary to give him a high chance of landing something that big.

Well Carl Williams was certainly a good contender for the best fighter Tyson beat for a start. His career hit the skids after Tyson but he was everything the WALDO fans like to claim WALDO is, he'd only lost twice before he lost to Tyson, once by decision to Holmes (which means the guy could box) and once by KO to Weaver (I think) which proves he could be bombed out despite all his physical advantages. Just like WALDO ;)

To be honest though I think Tysons best performance was Tyrell Biggs, he just flat out beat the living **** out of the guy, Biggs was an Olympic gold medalist, undefeated, had the style that was supposed to give Tyson nightmares.....look what happened. Biggs won the first round as I recall but after that it was brutal one way traffic.

WALDO definately does have a great jab, I've never denied that - but he's yet to be placed in a contest with a guy that can jab with him. Not his fault because there's no-one around right now but I suspect he'd struggle big time with the jab that Bruno had, same with Lewis, Ali, Holmes etc.

Fighting Weight and Irlandsk are making this thread an enjoyable read...it's nice when two people with differing opinions can respectfully state their cases without doing this...:|:|:|...all the got damned time.

Note to KLIT-ites: you see how this guy is doing a lot better with ESB Legend FW by being respectful...??? Don't be a f*ggot, and you don't have to get owned over, and over, and over....
    :deal

    Happy New Year.

    **** I'm good to KLIT-ites.

Ask Violent ******...he called OTG to talk KLITschko recently. I welcome KLIT-ites.

...and on Sunday we will have infamous KLITschko apologist, and journalist Scoop Malinowski on...he wants to debate that the KLITschko's are the ATGest HWs. :-((

I figure I might get his opinion on some other ****, because he'll be blown out of the water too quickly if that's his opinion. :yep

I don't really rate Carl Williams that highly. Though he had obvious natural talent, he never really put it together.(Have only seen his fights v. Tyson, Witherspoon, Berbick, and highlights of the Holmes match admittedly).
Just re-watched the Biggs fight on YouTube and it was very one-sided, great performance by Tyson though it was only Biggs' 16th fight. This could be much like Klitschko-Povetkin match should it happen this year. Talented yet inexperienced (professional) young fighter overmatched by seasoned HW champ in their prime.
Wlad hasn't been in with anyone with a jab like those guys and it will be interesting to see how it plays out if he ever meets someone with a jab near equal to his own. But back to Bruno, I agree Wlad would struggle for a time with the jab, but I also think he would find Bruno's chin before Frank found his.
