It was clear he carried Jones the final 2 rounds of that fight. Instead of utterly embarrassing Roy, instead of attempting to stop Roy and destroy his left eye, he basically turned the final 2 rounds into a light sparring session. Barely any punches were thrown, and I feel Joe could have seriously hurt Roy if he wanted to. So props for that.

It's disgraceful for Joe to of fought Roy after everything he said about him, then go on and talk about how great a victory it was.

It wasn't on purpose... I could do more damage bashing a SAFE with a FEATHER DUSTER than CALZAGHE could with his fists against any LIVE BOXER.

  6. did he really say it was a great victory?

in his post fight speech - he merely thanked roy for giving him the opportunity etc. and it meant a lot to him, and he hoped the fans enjoyed the show - and he's happy to have won again.

Taking the fight was disgraceful, considering the state Jones was in as a fighter, and talking about he would not fight him in his book. But he clearly carried Jones the final 2 rounds, he could have done some serious damage to a Jones who was clearly ****ed at that point

I agree to that last part but he should of never been in the fight.

    Just how I feel.

    impressive:rofl
Roy Jones is 100 percent shot, nothing impressive about being knocked down by him, and not being able to finish him:lol:

Everyone knows I am one of the biggest Jones haters here but after watching that fight I felt bad for Roy. And yes I believe Calzaghe let up on him in the last 3 rounds or so which was the right thing to do.

I did feel bad watching Jones get schooled for 10 rounds.

Nah. Jones was a very very good fighter although I disagree with many posters here about his ATG status the guy had insane skills and ability.

I did not watch the fight live I caught the replay the next weekend and I would be lying if I did not have a bad feeling sitting there watching Joe Calzaghe toy with him.

I think Jones did not fight a lot of people he could have and handpicked a lot but I literally felt sick to my stomach watching that fight and the ineptness of Roy's corner with that cut. He deserved better than that.

jones was slow and his legs were gone after the 2nd round, 5 years ago calzaghe would have been out of there quick, its a fact... you guys can keep fooling yourselfs all you want.

5 year ago the forearm shot wasn't even in Jones' arsenal.

But it's hard to see Calzaghe winning that fight. Although, objectively speaking, Joe's style would've made Jones work for that W real hard. But we can't say as a fact that Roy would've had an easy time there. Actually, he never met a Calzaghe type of quick, slick punching machine with great sense of adaptibility and 25 rounds of stamina, and Joe never met a Jones like of super-quick, powerful guy in his prime with exceptional reflexes and slickness.
