You aren't following the context. Someone claimed Williams would fight ANYONE. Not true since his manager backed out of the Pavlik fight. Pavlik may not have wanted that fight, but he was going to fight whoever Arum put in front of him, and Jsimps said Kelly fully expected it to be his next fight. Bhop came out of nowhere. I'm just trying to keep some folks rational. You can't make the claim PW will fight ANYONE when he already backed out of a fight he asked for and got his terms on.:deal Probably a good career move, but lets keep it SOMEWHAT real.

    im saying pw wanted it
regardless of what his management wanted
    PW WANTED IT

who is this jsimps guy anyways.... why are you referring to him as if he's some big reliable source

what if i told you i know pavlik as well... and i told you that pavlik didnt want to fight williams because he was known as a welter at the time?

nah im from miami but when i first saw pw fight i just liked his style and his attitude... he called out floyd cotto & margarito and actually did what he had to to try to make those fights happen.....

ok, cool. i like him for the same reasons...hes active, fights anyone....and is a puncher. also he is from South Carolina...about 100 miles from where I live. and if you know anything about South Carolina...not many big time people come from here.......Smoking Joe Frazier is the biggest...Lamar Kid Fire Parks from the 90s, another midldleweight.....

I actually liked the Kolle fight, because it was just a quick showcase jump fight up to 160, and he was already lining up his next fight when he made that fight. Phillips I think at the moment he signed that one was the best opponent he can get.

How can you fault him when he already, on the heels of those, has made a fight with Wright (and it would have been sooner had Wright not been trying to weasel his way out of it with Money issues).

There is nothing wrong with soft touches as long as you are lining up bigger and better things in the interim.

kolle has never been knocked out prior to facing paul.... that has to say at least a little about his strength at 160 facing someone who only has 1 loss to andre ward & not even andre ward put him down.... kolle retired on his bench... RTD

Actually that says more about his level of competition then how good his chin actually is.

it says something about both... but paul williams still put the guy out in like 90 seconds at the end of the day... a feat that nobody has done at the 160 pound limit

Not saying it wasn't good, but please, try to keep a little perspective if you want to claim to being "level headed". Like I said, his being upright at the end of all his fights prior is more due to who he's faced. It was a cool and exciting win, but nothing to brag about in terms of stature @ 160. Now, if he does something like that to Winky, THAT will be impressive.

nah im just saying though... it says a "LITTLE" about his strength... if he ko'd someone that had 20 fights and has never been ko'd before at that weight we can atleast agree that his strength at 160 has to be atleast mediorce

I wasn't denying he can punch, just that KOing Kolle shouldn't be some benchmark.

its a bench mark for atleast having mediocre strength @ 160...

im not saying this strength would be enough for the kp's or aa's but atleast i know he has something up there....

when he fights winky we will get a great idea of what paul can really do at 160 ... esp if pw some how stop winky
