have you ever seen a knockdown or stoppage by a telegraphed haymaker?

the more i watch boxing the more impossible it seems to me that a opponent would get hurt by a telegraphed punch. i think most of all knockouts or stoppages are from a accumalated amount of punches or a quick counter punch.

despite the potential danger, it could be ironic to say that a telegraphed haymaker is not very dangerous at all to a proffesional that has the luxery to see it comming a mile away.

however i do remember twice that haymaker changed the result in a fight,

iran barkley's looping right hand that knocked down hearns for the first time in their first fight after hearns was teeing off and on route to a possible early stoppage.

dennis adries was recieving constant shots from jeff harding but as harding was stepping in, adries connecting with a very wide unorthodoxed looping shot that floored harding for the entire count.

I don't think is particularly rare reallyThere have been countless brawlers\sluggers and the like throughout the years that are incapable of throwing a straight punch more than a few times a round after all.

marciano is one truly great fighter that telegraphed nearly everything he threw.It didn't matter though because of his power and other attributes.

Michael Moorer stood up right in front of big George Foreman and saw that shot coming every inch of the way yet didn't move or even attempt to step away to from that slammer George stopped him with, it was as if Moorers feet were cemented to the spot.. The rest is history..

moorer kept circling to his right to get away from georges right and outboxing george all of the way

george starts throwing left hooks but no right hand behind them to get moorer circling to his left occasionally then in the 10nth round he throws the left hook moorer starts going left and BANG rigth hand and good night to moorer

that was a carefully planned telegraphed shot

 

Well, Moore says he was damned near out from the shot before that, but was hiding it. That'd make the second shot land even cleaner, among other things.

 

One that comes to mind is McCallum against Curry.

Also Eubank's wild right was the reason Wastson lost in the very next round of their rematch.

Looking back at it, I suppose it was not exactly a haymaker, but it did travel a very long way.

It was more of a hayemaker than a telegraphed punch IMO. McCallum threw the punch from his waist and it was rather quick. I don't think he showed Curry the punch too much while in the process of unleashing it.

I've seen Gene Fullmer drop, KO, and hurt a number of fighters with telegraphed overhand rights. Joe Miceli is probably the best example.
