Thats because Cotto wasn't on the downside of his carreer.

LOL hatton would beat the **** out of cotto? That's the funniest thing I've heard ever. The Cotto who fought Margo would beat Hatton any day of the week. Let's put Hatton in a ring with Margarito and see what happens.

Excuse me.....Paulie hasn't been the same fighter since Cotto.

    Try another comparison.

Truth be told, I believe that hatton tried to get a fight with Cotto before his fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Thats an easy cop-out to take, its not really been proved in his performances. In between the Cotto and Hatton fights, Paulie stayed undefeated and picked up a world title.

The reason Hatton stopped Paulie and Cotto didn't isn't that he's nessarcerily a better fighter than Cotto, just that the type of pressure he brings his more intense than Cottos. Its a styles issue, thats all.

They kind of just went by each other, Hatton was coming to the fore in the division and looking for a mega fight and Cotto was struggling with his weight. Hatton did mention Cotto as stated many times in the this thread. Cotto couldn't get back to 140 now and Hatton isn't going back to 147 so its a pointless argument for them to fight now. However when both were at 140 I think its a close fight. Cotto was a bit green.

Hasn't been the same fighter? Paulie was a nobody prior to Cotto, he really made his name in that fight. He has stepped up against a better quality of opposition since hence why he is not beating them as easy as he did.

At 140 in 2005-2006 Hatton would have been too busy for a still learning Cotto IMHO. Now its pretty academic as they fight in different weight divisions and don't seem to be anywhere near each others radar.

Cotto as a boxer is vastly overrated.

At least Hatton can use both his hands.

Well truth be told, Malig, while not shot, he could've continued to fight against Hatton, IMO, although that wouldn't have changed the outcome of an L, but not by stoppage. Second, we all (almost all) know that just because Hatton stopped Malig first, that doesn't mean he's better than Cotto. That analogy just doesn't work in boxing. All that being said, I just don't see hatton beating Cotto, not at 147 at least, and we know Cotto won't go below that anymore in his career.

Cotto better watch his outh or He might tempt Ricky to go ahead and take Cotto out after hes finished dismantling Pac-man.. Would be a brutal night for Cotto.
