Mogens Palle has told media in Denmark that March 14 is the working date for Mikkel Kessler´s debut as a headline fighter in America. Who he will fight hasn´t been announced yet.

Who could it be, who's available or not around that date?

That'll be the ****!! Man just wish he would have come on over while he was still RED hot coming out of the Calz fight.

Have to wait and see on opponent though to get too excited. It will either be A) a marquee opponent in a big fight, or B) some scrub to make him look real good to set up a bigger fight later. I guess.

This is just what Kessler needs to do. I hope it works out.

OOOhhh! Good idea there. Bika is hot right now, just won the Contender and stuff. Knowing he's never dull on top of that, would be a good action fight.

Can't be Taylor if Kessler's headlining it on March 14, because Dawson/Tarver II is already set for HBO on that date and you can bet that Taylor won't on Showtime, especially not when HBO wants that fight.

I believe his subpar competition has been the source of criticism, rather than getting himself over to the USA.

And that looks to still be the case in his next fight.

Taylor or a unification would be very very nice, but we might ask too much here. So let's have a look at the WBA list and look for acceptable fighters by HBO:

    1. Gusmyl Perdoma
    2. Stjepan Bozic
    3. Karo Murat
    4. Dimitri Sartison
    5. Robert Stieglitz
    6. Mads Larsen
    7. Lukas Wilaschek
    8. Danilo Haussler
    9. Marcus Johnson
    10. Andre Ward
    11. Andre Dirrell
    12. Jean Paul Mendy
    13. Vitaly Tsypko
    14. Allan Green
    15. Sakio Bika

I agree with Bika being the strongest candidate. What about Green? Well, there's a risk with his tendencies to pull out, but unlike Bika, he's American. I don't think Ward is ready, same with Dirrell, although I wouldn't be surprised of a bold move - forced by HBO.

Bika, Green, Dirrell, all 3 sounds good to me. At the very moment, Bika is the most credible opponent and he deserves a title shot anyway, so I hope he'll get it. But Taylor would be the big ****.
