You know, a shot champion fighting at a weight class he should never have been at. Hatton KO's Castillo then everybody starts hyping the fact Hatton beat Castillo worse then Floyd, same way PAcquaio beat Oscar worse then Floyd did. Then people starting saying Hatton was better then Floyd and could actually share the same ring with Floyd.

I assure you, if Pac-man keeps getting hyped like this, and Roach keeps talking ****, its going to end the same way it ended for Hatton. On his back in Vegas. :good

    The scenrios are totally different.

Pac had one fight at LW, skipped LWW, then went into a fight at WW he was supposed to lose.

Hatton was fighting at his natural weight and beat a guy he was favoured to beat, a guy that was coming up and who had looked **** in his last fight.

Hatton beating Castillo was hardly a shock.

The hype doesnt mean Floyd is going to beat Pacquiao, Roach said he was not interested in a fight with Floyd at any weight.

i don't agree, oscar was shocking, hatton just got a quick ko that would have stopped him in his prime

    WTF:huh

Castillo in his prime was virtually unstoppable, except by cuts. The only one to complete the task with vicious punching was Corrales, and that ending was a miraculous never to be repeated event (IMO).

i stand by what i said, castillo had never even gone down before hatton, but those broken ribs would have stopped him in his prime.

DLH wasn't at his natural weight. The DLH who showed up against Castillo was no better of a fighter. DLH hadn't weighed in that light in 12 years and was part time.

Beating DLH was more of a shock but so was JLC getting stopped on a body shot.. But looking back those fights weren't full blown unpredictable upsets. Castillo had been through his wars and got by with a split decision against Ngoujdo during a Hatton/JLC showcase. DLH got stopped against Hopkins in 04, took all of 05 off, fought Mayorga in 06, fights Floyd in 07 and then fights Forbes early this year. DLH was clearly part time and had to make a limit he hadn't in 7 years. If both DLH and Pac continued to fight at WW, Pac would be fighting in a more comfortable state.

There are similarities in hype. Half of the people picking Pac won't even think the Hatton fight will be competitive.

    Idiotic thread.

Hatton wasn't a huge underdog going in against Castillo and Hatton wasn't moving up two weight divisions.

Difference is Pacquiao is a far better fighter than Hatton, and can back up the hype.
