Mayweather was the Champ when Williams beat Margarito.

 

Just because you buy into hype doesn't mean everyoe else does. Well, the younger fanboys do I guess, since they make a big deal about it.

 

Margo is recognized as number 1 and Williams didn't beat him when he was the number 1. Mayweather was.


Although from what margo has done now makes Williams win that much better but he still has a way to go. I just hope he doesn't get pushed out of the 147 division.

 

EVERY fighter is represented in EVERY way....there are williams haters williams lovers...PBF same thing...margo same thing....to hate williams is just WEIRD...so u want people to watch the first quintana fight...which was a razor thin dec and just ignore the fact that he blew him out??? and he beat the alleged number one WW....and it is true noone will fight him...margo chose to fight shane instead of revenge his defeat...or at least arum did...PW is a great boxer and is everything good about boxing....u don't see margo leavibg the sauna to actually go up in weight???NOPE

 

He didn't win a title from Verno Phillips. He won the "interim" WBO belt, which makes him the mandatory for the real WBO Champ, Dzindziruk, who he and his camp apparently don't want to fight now.

Fact is, Williams has never even successfully defended an alphabet title. The one time he did, he lost to Quintana. It seems absolutely ridiculous to me that they're claiming people are avoiding him when they're the ones jumping all over the place and vacating belts rather than defending them. If he wants big fights, be a champ and defend your belt and take the best available opponent because fighters are interested in winning belts and being called champ.

 

Horrible decision. Which is why he dropped the 147 WBO belt.


Margo did that and it took him FOREVER to land a big fight. If he would of dropped the WBO and became the mando to the other belts it would of been a lot faster.

 

If it worked on me you would find me in every single Margarito thread completely backing up the most feared beast claims.

I'm pointing out that it worked on others and easily, otherwise those threads won't exist and such comments won't be all over whenever he's mentioned.

 

That was mentioned back when Margarito was being hyped as the most feared man in the planet because he called out Mayweather. His fans didn't agree and called it a load of bull****, now that the WBO was dropped you can see how the big fights are slowly coming.

 

Margo doesn't fear Williams but...

It's easy to fear someone you fought. Knowing you could lose to them could set back his career big time. If PW becomes the man of the division it would be really hard pressed for Margo to get a 3rd match with Williams if he lost to him a 2nd time.

 

Losing to Williams in a sense helped his career.

 

True. That's also an option and how he got the fight with Margarito in the first place. There was also talk of a unification fight against Clottey which apparently was trying to get done but fell apart because of HBO budget reasons, and which Clottey has recently said he would even take at 154, but has apparently been ignored by Team Williams so far.

The WBO sucks. But why fight Phillips and become the WBO mandatory for Dzindziruk if you don't think that fight is lucrative enough or simply don't want to fight him? What kind of career move is that?

 

dzinziruk should be able to snag a ud from williams, but williams wont step to the plate

 

Good point, now Williams is plagued and picked up the "Most feared beast" title instead and can't get any big fights.
