Yes it does ring a bell and I never said in my post that Douglas or Baldomir belong in the same list of elite fighters but this doesn't change the fact that they did step it up and won a major fight they weren't expected to win. Completely writing them off is insulting in my opinion, Tyson is my favorite fighter but I wouldn't say that Douglas shouldn't be remembered as a former undisputed champion because he won a fight he wasn't expected to win. That's like saying Holyfield is a paper champion too for beating him, makes sense?

They are just mad. Baldomir was able to become the man of the division while Margo still has not.

It's also funny that some would even go as far as saying Margarito's WBOgus clearly paper title is worth more than the WBC/WBA/IBF.

    NO ! :nono

Floyd must come back, he must build on his legacy, he has a chance to go down with the ATGs, it would be a waste of talent if Hatton in dec 07 was his last fight at only 30 despite what he has already accomplished, he can & should do more.

Golden Johnson wasn't a defense, so even that one isn't in the list. Replace him with Lujan, Hercules and Andrew "Six heads zero chins" Lewis. :good

Watch them attack now and say "MARGARITO HAS FOUGHT THE ELITE OF ALL ELITES ALL HIS CAREER AND SHOULD BE IN THE ATG LISTS!!!".

Man i dont care how you guys slice it or chop it...

    margarito was not as accomplished
    as
    baldomir was at the time
    mayweather & baldomir faced off...

    3 belts vs 1 belt...

a fighter who has known fighters on his resume vs a fighter who has no known fighter on his resume

a recognized fighter vs a not so recognized fighter....

    come on guys

But why blame PBF for it? He could only fight who was in front of him. Anyone in his position would have fought for the linear championship if given the opportunity. It's not like he targeted Baldo he was targeting Zab and had the fight signed but Zab lost his linear title to Baldo.

At the time Baldo was a more accomplished fighter than Margo was and his linear championship at 147 proves it.:deal

I never said that.... to be fair i dont know what the initial thoughts of that fight was at the time because i didnt use forums back then but i would like to see what the posters were talking about....

    all im saying is ...
    baldo was more known
baldo had more to fight for

at the end of the day it was less risk more reward...

just like what margo is doing right now with paul williams...

less rick more reward in going another direction and im not mad at him for that

Let's not BS, when Floyd fought Baldo the ENTIRE boxing world wanted him to fight MaRGO instead.

That said Floyd beats him, but he still didn't want to fight the guy...regardless of if he would win or not.

No they didn't only die hard boxing fans did. Margo was an unknown then he had nothing to offer PBF that was more than what Baldo could. Not to mention Baldo was just coming off of impressive wins over big names in Zab and Gatti, Margo was a nobody.:deal PBF got more money fighting Baldo and a shot at the linear championship. Only a fool would have fought Margo over Baldo at that time and you know it. Let''s see fight Margo for less only to win and have fans on ESB discredit it by saying Margo was a nobody and that you ducked Baldo the champ or fight the linear champ of the division for more money....hmmmm it's a no brainer.
