Arlovski is a beast, to be honest. The guy has VERY fast, and very powerful hands. He also has very good boxing technique.... fast feet... he's a great athlete.

I sparred with a few guys that fought in something called "fight clubs", must are trained in Muy thai, and had fights in Ohio, where must of the MMA tournaments seem to take place. We used 16 oz gloves, and even though I been out of boxing for nearly 3 years and well out of boxing shape, I was able to connect on both guys at will, especially with the jab, their guard was terrible, and both men where stunned and the one got dropped from punches most of my former boxing sparring partners would walk right through.

I learned MMA fighters have very good stamina, but lack proper punching form and are wide open to a good offense attack. Valuev may not be anything special, but he would kill Arlovski in a boxing ring, where he would find himself lost once his in their with a superior boxer.

 I'm just saying, Ruiz is multiple WBA champ, I dont think he's trash, even though he does clinch too much.

I actually use to like Chagaev, but over the last year and half he has done more damage to the division, than good. In the ring he's somewhat enertaining, but he rarely fights anymore, there's always an excuse as to why he wont fight the big names in the division, Valuev again and Sultan.

I don't think much of all this phony martial arts, however, these phony heavyweight champions are vulnerable to anybody who comes to fight.

This would be a major embarrassment to boxing if Arlovski won a champion ship belt!!! Dana White would have a field day "UFC washout win Heavy weight title" I would not go to work for a Week , Id pretend I had a break out of herpes or something .

Youre right Pun most MMA fighters have severe problems defending themselves from punches, but i remembered that in the tale of the tape in a MMA event said that he was disciplined in boxing, and he has a good striking game in MMA; one of the best, i understand youre point i've fought with MMA fighters sparring and they have a nasty defense, and you can land flush on them, maybe he can train for that defense and become a contender or a champion.

Fair enough buddy, I have nothing against MMA fighters, and to be honest with you, there stamina is no joke, it was shocking to see how in-shape some of my friends are. Their stand-up, in regards to punching, was pretty bad, in almost every session we had, I either had there legs buckle or had them drop to the canvas because of balance issues. I could only imagine what would happen if I was wearing 10 oz gloves or god forbid 4 oz gloves, where I would probably **** up my hand pretty bad and really hurt them in the process.

Ok, Valuev is a bum but he is 215cm, 120 kilo bum. Why Evander looked so good against him, because he got onto Sabre dance mode and outquicked Valuev and did not slow down for a second.
If you simply stay infront of the alien, sooner or later he will get you with his jabs. If Andrei Arlovski sit against him and trade he is in for a nasty surprise.

Oh and should be non-championship. It will be a disgrase if someone fights for a WBA belt with 0 boxing matches.

Using 4 oz gloves gives yourv hands very little protection, so anytime you put weight behind a punch, your hands are gonna take one hell of a beating. I remember the last street fight I got into about a year and a half ago, I destroyed the guy, but my wrist was so ****ed up I couldnt lift weights or hit the heavybag for months, because anytime I put any weight behind it or try lifting something heavy, it would give out on me.

I think MMA is fine, just not what an MMA fighter thinks he could beat a world class heavyweight, the differnce in power and ability would amaze you.

It would be intresting to watch. And Valuev dont seem to mind side show fights to make money, like fighting Holyfield.

I would rather Sergei Kharitonov challange Valuev. Sergei is one of the best amatuer boxers in Russia. Sergei has a hard head ( even getting hit by mma gloves).

I dont care how great his chin is in MMA fights, a boxing match is completely different. It's not even the fact that boxers hit harder than MMA guys, because there is MMA guys that could hit just as hard as some boxers, the difference is, Boxers know how to set traps and work for that opening, and judging by most MMA fighters guards, it wont be to hard for even a medicore fighter to find Arlovski's chin. I would bet everything I have in the bank that even a C- class fighter like Tye Fields would knock Arolovski the **** out in under 3 rounds.

I am not talking about Arvolski. I am talking about Sergei Kharitonov. He is a top ranked amatuer boxer and does have a very sturdy chin.

Arlovski lost to Tim Sylvia twice in what was essentially a boxing match with smaller gloves.
