if manny can use his speed and movement to keep the fight in the middle of the ring and not allow hatton to maul him all night he will win. Regardless, of the mayweather sr hype he still is not a good boxer.
You're mistaken mon ami. Hatton can box, long term fans have seen this, but he's far more effective as a pressure fighter. It's more destructive in the mid to late rounds for durable opponents.
damn. physical it's pretty close, but 140 no has beaten hatton. mental edge i might give it to manny tho. but i'm going back and forth about who might win this one, i think hatton might be stronger on the inside, but manny should be faster on the outside. i'm also wondering as to how manny would handle ricky's lunging left hook, but pacman might be too fast to get caught with it. not even sure if i should bet on this one! it's driving me nuts:nut
Both are similar fighters, both come forward throwing punches and rarely take a step back. Id say Hatton has the better body punching while Manny Pacquiao has the faster hands and barely lets you breath, hes ushally all over you. I see this as a close fight untill Manny Pacquiao eventually stops Ricky Hatton in the later stages of the fight.
Ricky Hatton is known to cut in fights and with the punches Pacquiao hit De La Hoya with were crisp and accurate, Ricky Hatton's skin may not be able to cope with those shape cutting punches. David Diaz was known to cut and look at the state Pac-man has his face in.
Please! Hatton is better than Diaz in every department - P4P or H2H. With Mick Williamson in his corner he ain't vulnerable to cut stoppages.
I think that alot of people forget this. I've watched as many of Hatton's fights as I can get my hands on, and the guy can box when he wants to. People who only began watching him after Tszyu didn't see the side of Hatton that beat up on Tackie, Mcghee, and others. I think the size will come in only that Ricky is used to fighting at 140, and is much faster at that weight than he is at 147. Pac is fast, true, but he's been dropped before. He's much better than he was then, but he's not impervious to getting knocked out. When you put him with a strong puncher like Hatton, it's very possible that many could get caught with a couple left hooks and dropped in the later rounds. The body shots could very well accumulate on Pacman too- Hatton that Micky Ward type body shot that can change fights. I still think Hatton wins this fight, and it will be one for the ages.
Ricky has a chance as long the third man is not Cortes his bruising style will give Pac problems he was able to catch Paulie which is very elusive so speed is not a problem.
I say Hatton KO. The guy has the footspeed to keep up with Pacquiao. And the power to stop him.. I am Filo, but I ain't bias..def tough fight for Pac.
