Nationalities Least Likely to Throw In Towel?

Just wondering if anyone else agrees.

I've watched my fair share of boxing over the past 20 years and it seems like Americans are the most merciless and very rarely throw in the towel. British and Australian corners seem to have the most compassion for their fighter and will throw in the towel to spare their guys punishment. Heck, even the Mexicans throw in the towels on occasion to save their guys.

Maybe I'm wrong, but are the Americans least likely to throw in the towel?

    Yes...

I think Mexicans and most Latino nations are the least likely to throw in the towel...unless obviously EXTREMELY beat up. Whereas Americans typically do it when it seems like there's nothing else that could be done...

Ex. as of recent: Verno Phillips vs. P.Will
    DLH vs. Pacquiao
    Malignaggi vs. Hatton

    etc. etc.

Ehhh.. Probably Mexicans first. Americans dislike this as well. In European fights it is more acceptable. I think "throwing in the towel" is perfectly logical and should be done more often in obvious situations.

Didnt Paulie throw the towel? He forced Buddy to stop it and pretended he was hurt by that

I doubt it, Buddy is really good about knowing when enough is enough.

Seriously?? Well, if that was against Hatton, I guess I can't really fault him since Hatton was pretty much killing him.

As far as Latinos not throwing in the towel, I think Nacho Beristain is a recent example of a Mexican with some compassion for his fighter since Oscar was not in extremely bad shape. Sure, he was getting beat up but wasn't close to being stopped yet.

I remember Naseem fighting a Venezulean guy who was beat up but still fairly coherent and his corner stopped the fight.

Buddy gets ripped a lot but he knows what he is doing and protects his guys perfectly when they are getting whipped. The problem is that his fighters always seem to be in fights they can't/don't win.

Sorta...he knows when his fighter is getting dominated and can't do anything to stop it, but he throws it rather quickly.

Paulie couldn't do ****, but I definitely don't see him as being hurt in that fight :bart

Gatti was getting a thorough ass beating by Mayweather, but he said he wanted ONE more round and Buddy said no...smart...but he throws it rather quickly

You won't see a Mexican trainer do that. ****...even Beristain asked DLH if he wanted to go one more, but he said no

Throwing in the towel should be/is a cornermans duty. A trainer should know his fighter well enough, to determine the precise moment, to exercise his right/duty from allowing his man to absorb 'that' blow which may render a lifetime of incapacitation...

Therefore, Im one proud Australian, for having the likes of Johnny Lewis wave our flag from the corner.

Yeah, he's a good trainer. The only doubt I have about him is his technical acumen; he's not a Mayweather Sr or a Nacho Beristain, he's more about conditioning and attrition in my opinion. But he takes care of his fighters, thats for sure.

Black fighters are the least to throw in the towel if you are talking boxing history. Black fighters have the most skill. Caucasian fighters have crazy heart. Mexicans go toe to toe. Puerto Ricans are slick boxer/punchers. All other nationalities are just tough as nails. This is boxing's stereotypes lol.

Black fighters usually get KTFO before having the chance to decide when enough is enough :D

Some of the brutal KO's involve black fighters on the floor...

Some of the gutsy-est fighters were white

    But generally speaking...its Mexican.
