I remember Morales vs Barrera I.
Morales looked impressive, fast, and his work rate of punches
was even better than that of Margarito. I believe that Pacman
would have been KO by that Morales (in Barreras vs Morales I and II )
Remember that Morales defeated Pacman in the first fight
After Morales had left everything in the ring against Barrera, in 3 different fights.
    What is your opinion ?

    I agree.

Morales lost a step by the time he fought Pacquiao, even in the first fight, and Raheem proved he could no longer fight at the highest level.

Morales peaked at 122, Pacquiao at 130 (or possibly higher, who knows). Pacquiao is probably the better fighter, though Morales would always run him close, if not win... he had the tools.

Morales WAS at his peak in their 1st encounter IMO. He began to fade only when he went against Raheem.

Morales outboxes Pac to a UD. Pretty much like their first fight.

pac wasn't even in his prime during the first fight and he was fighting at 130 for the first time.

Morales chin was similar as that of Margarito`s.
Why did not Pacman KO Morales the first time and lose instead ?

i don't want to use gloves as an excuse but i can say that pac was beaten by the better man that night. but as you can see, if you want a fantasy matchup between a younger morales in his prime, why stop at pacman during that time and put at least the version of pac in the 3rd fight where he already was well settled at the weight and much improved than the pac that an older morales have beaten?

actually this fantasy matchup is unfair since you want a better morales version but not a better pac version. as it is, they fought 3x in a real matchup and pac won 2 out of 3.

Morales prime was 122 & he deteriorated as he went up thru the weights.

Pacquiao`s prime is likely now as due to natural physical gifts & Roach, he has improved while going up thru the weights.

I truly believe that when they met the 1st time was probably the perfect crossroads in their careers, any time they fought after that & Pacman wins & any time they fought before that Morales wins.

Erik was always a well schooled boxer that could slug with the best & basically had all the tools to be an ATG since his teenage days, he refused to change to a more cautious style in order to prolong his career & moved thru the weights with the talent & ability he had since very early on.

Manny was a phenom physically, like a Bruce Lee from very early in his career, he physically overwhelmed opponents while slowly learning new skills as he got older & more experienced, now he is probably as complete as he is ever going to get before his body starts declining.

P4p has to go to Manny as he started at a lighter weight than Erik + ended up at a higher weight.

Better fighter in a technical sense has to go to Morales & I dont think Manny could ever claim to be a better fighter at any of his previous weights than Erik was at 122 lbs, Erik is up there with Gomez at this weight.

Both guys are 2 of the greatest warriors & most exciting fighters of all time IMO, boxing needs guys like these, they are a dying breed.
