Is he good enough to win a world title and will he actually get a chance this year? :p

i think he should wait another year before a tile shot as i think he would benefit from another year at british/european level

    hes a good fighter

Nah he say's he will not fight Cook and none of the other governing bodies are daft enough to let him fight for a title. Kevin Mitchell will sit it out till Cook loses then sit it out till that champ gets replaced by someone poor. So maybe late 2010. I think Mitchell is being daft not fighting Cook. The scrap would be a good domestic standard fight for a Euro level belt but he would be able to call himself a world champ if he pulled it off. Maybe he will jump ship and try going for a better belt and better champs but while he stays at SN he will keep fighting cans.

I doubt he will go for another belt and definetly not for another top boxer. Mitchell needs more experience before he fights any where elite level. 2009 should be a year of progression fights to get him ready for a good top level career.

If he's not going to go for a world title, I think he should go for the EBU title and fight some decent Euro level comp before moving on up.

He's not good enough to win a 'proper' world title and I don't see another year helping matters. He's a good, solid, European level fighter/ fringe world class.

In another year Cook will have probably lost the title although I hope he fights often and keeps it. I like Mitchell and although I think you are right about how good he is I really hope he becomes the next genuine world title champ and not a career WBO guy.

He's ranked third with the IBF(no one rated 2 either) so he might go that route if he isn't going fight Cook.

I would love him to go that way. Who is the IBF belt holder and who would he possibly have to face in an eliminator?
