Who says that Pavlik is afraid of Abraham? :think

So you think that Pavlik shouldn't face the most dangerous boxer in his weight class because Abraham fought bums two or three years ago?

When did he turn down a shot at Taylor? Source? (BTW: I think that Taylor is too fast for Abraham.) And I do think that it was good that Abe faced Demers after Miranda I. I'm not so happy with Abraham's competition since Demers but who should he fight? The middleweight division is so weak; there's an enourmous gap between Pavlik, Abraham, Sturm and the rest. Pavlik's people don't want Abraham give a shot; Sturm's people aren't interested in a fight against Abraham either. Wright turned down a fight about six months ago.

I think Pavlik, as the recognized champ, should fight the best available contenders. It's just ironic that Abraham fans are complaining about people avoiding him when he was avoiding everyone after that first Miranda fight.

After Mora pulled out, Abraham was offered a shot at JT and his team turned it down. That happened a couple of years ago and I don't feell like looking the article. If you don't believe, that's fine. I really don't care.

Thanks. The fight against Spinks took place a week before Abraham-Demers. I guess Abraham-Demers was already fixed before he got the offer against Taylor. Even if this is not the case I don't think it would have been wise to fight Taylor in the first fight after the fracture of his jaw.

I'm finding it hard to believe that Cory Spinks was the second choice of Lou Dibella, after Abraham.

Especially as all the news reports I can find regarding the cancellation of the Taylor v Mora fight feature quotes from Dibella saying that he had already contacted Don King about fighting Spinks and do not mention Abraham at all.

I really don't care what you find hard to believe. I'm tired of going around, searching the internet for old news articles. Pretty much everyone on here has their own biased point of view anyway, and will only believe what they want to believe.

I would venture to guess that Abraham will have trouble continuing to make the 160 limit. Pavlik needs to make this fight happen in 2009 or Abraham will likely move up and I will lose a ton of respect for Kelly. That being said, I do not have a problem with it if he takes Sturm's belt or fights a can or two to get his confidence back in the ring. Just give us AA in late 09.

Well, AA is having trouble with the weight now, but that really can't be Pavlik's teams concern. What if he drains enough he has to call in sick again day of the fight? Just let AA show a little discipline between fights and the problem is solved. Or let him move to a warmer climate. JT says the Florida sun is keeping weight off of him and he may go back down to 160.

The thing is, if you claim things that are intuitively hard to believe, then it's usually good form to have some form of evidence. I have no agenda on this point, I just see nothing to back up what you're saying.

In terms of risk, reward, profile, money, it is very hard to imagine that Lou Dibella considered Arthur Abraham a more attractive opponent for Taylor than Cory Spinks in early 2007 and only turned to Spinks after Abraham turned him down. Especially as, when I try to find any evidence myself, I find articles immediately after the Mora fight was cancelled where Dibella is quoted as saying he was trying to secure a fight with Spinks and no mention of Abraham at all.

Again, believe whatever you want. I'm tired of this bull**** of searching for articles all the time. I'm not in college anymore, I don't feel like having to do homework everytime I post on this forum.

Pavlik should want to fight the best out there. At this time the best opposition would seem to be Abraham. Almost any other fight, aside from Sturm, is pointless.

That's totally right and his present hype is mainly based on his latest destruction of Miranda which has always been a limited fighter....

    Bull****.

When his jaw healed, he fought four quality opponents within a one year period.

Just because you haven't heard of someone doesn't make tham a bum.

If Pavlik wants to remain the man at 160, Abraham is the fight he needs to take and the biggest fight at middleweight.
