In the 5th round, De la hoya caught Pacquiao with combinations of jabs, right to the body, and successive left hooks. The Golden Boy's encore was he caught Manny on the ropes with three crushing left hook blows.

The only problem was Hoya's combo has to no visible effect on Pacquiao.

So crushing it would have crushed two, maybe 3 grapes.

You read into things too much noob.

What a waste of valuable forum space this thread is, what a failure of epic proportion too.

As A.J. Liebling put it back in 1962, “there are few dreams worse than the one in which you hit a man without making any impression, and in waking life the situation is even more frightening.”

Really now? Read some round by round of the fight.

Round 5: Pacquiao takes some hard shots and comes right back

    - USA Today

Round 5: Body shot by De La Hoya lands and then two lefts

    - AsianWeek

Round 5: Late in the round, Oscar showed more aggression, loading up on some hooks and body shots that actually landed

    - Newsday

Round 5: HARD body shot lands for De La Hoya followed by three left hooks. Pacquiao takes it just fine though.

    - Fighthype

Round 5: Oscar lands a body shot and follows it with four hooks.

    - ESPN

Round 8: Oscar lands a half-hearted combo. Pacquiao mocks him.

    - ESPN

I know, as a Filipino, I've been watching him since the 1990s. But I can't help wonder what does he mean in this particular fight?

He does indeed, and it's always after he gets hit with something solid that he felt.

In this case it was the right hand to the body.

I wonder how much is Manny Pacquiao's ability to withstand hard body shots due to this stick training?
