No I would rather have him fight a bum than nobody. I can also see how the Arreola fight makes sense financially. I´ll admit that I don´t know the business details for fighting each fighter, whether they´d be available for example, but I´ll say the following.

    1) I would have thought Povetkin could be ready in May himself. I may be wrong though, but if not, I think Wlad should rather fight Povetkin right away.

    2) As for worthier opponents, I´d think Gomez, Dimitrenko, Ruiz, Virchis, Chambers (although that is a **** fight financially) and perhaps Maskaev would be better tests for Wlad. Mostly I´d like to see Wlad get rid of Valuev, but I know that fight can´t be made.

    3) In a way, I´m not so much disgusted by Wlad and his people choosing this fight, as just how little options there are in good fighters for Wlad to face.

So you think there will be huge credit to Wlad when he beats Arreolla?
Man whose best opponent so far is Trawis Walker.

Of course there would be people discrediting him after any possible victory, but Arreola is far for being most deserving contender. It’s certainly better opponent than Valuev normally fights but there are better opponents.

If you exclude Hayes cruiserweight credentials then maybe.
Who are this ranked opponents Arreola has beaten and what were their ranking when he beat them?

Walker was ranked top-10 by some sanctioning body but who else?

Montte Barret and Tomasz Bonin were both ranked top-12 by some major sanctioning bodies in time of fight.

You should watch those 8 fights same way you look Vitalis match against Lennox.
Look the performance not only the end result. (I seem to remember you scored the first Peter fight to Toney also)
Toney beat Sam Peter, Fress Oquendo, John Ruiz, Hasim Rahman, Evander Holyfield and Dominic Guinn. Now some of them are not official victories, but Toney did beat them.
That should be more than enough contenders to get a title shot against Wladimir.
Further more if Wladimir wins that match, he would still have time to fight against Arreola in future.
When there isn’t so much time to make a fight against Toney. In next year Wladimir would also get much more credit for defeating Arreolla, if Arreolla would have more time to prove himself against some contenders.

James Toney is ATG and should get one more shot for the title before he retires. :good

Toney was offered a fight twice...both times he said "no" saying he wanted more $$$$. Toney didnt want Wlad at that time....he might want him now because he knows his days are numbered and he wants as big of a payday as he can get. I dont see the point of fighting Toney at this time...IMO Let Arreola fight Toney winner to face Wlad....now that I like

    Yup :good

He'll beat Haye's ass too :deal

After encountering Vitali though...it'll go downhill from there :verysad

Then when big brother has the titles and lil brother wants em back...we either might FINALLY see the fight we want to see Klit vs. Klit...or them leave the division because neither fighter wants to fight each other...which is a GREAT thing to happen
