the Later round's of Ali Frazier lll were brutal to the extreme, a practically blind Joe Frazier took some punishment that night, most of those in attendance were sickened by the Brutality of it and by the end, two great fighter's were close to death. The Thrilla in Manilla is my pick.
:goodit was shocking,i dont think any other hw in history could've took what those two took that night, their performances were the epitome of heart, desire& an unbreakable will to win, awesome fight.
Frazier really upped his game against Ali, hard to imagine this was the same man who got bounced all over the ring against Foreman.
:goodthe ali-frazier-foreman fights prove that just because fighter A beats fighter B & fighter B beats fighter C thats its not a given that fighter A will beat fighter C,i think it was his genuine hatred for ali that enabled him to take the beating he did in rounds 12-14.and to think that was viewed as a walk over for ali at the time!
Gatti-Ruelas Not the most brutal of all time, but that fight turned me into an instant Arturo Gatti fan. They were like "FightNight" videogame characters that night. Throwing haymakers and uppercuts and hard shots all fight long. My jaw dropped to the floor.
Recent...has to be Margarito Vs. Cotto. (Tony should have ben arrested for leaving Cotto's face like that BRUTAL!)
I remember Dave McCauley's fights, the guy was a WARRIOR! He later went on to demolish Duke McKenzie to take his title.
