"It's Been Difficult. So much work to arrive at a certain level but each time something is placed in my way. It Creates a lot of frustration. 6 Months ago i was thinking about retirement, but now I'm more motivated than ever."

"I have desire to fight against anyone. I have no doubt in my mind that I will be ready to go by the middle of February. If for some reason Michael Jennings Isn't ready to fight Miguel Cotto, I am Available. I know that I have the talent to Fight with Andre Berto, Joshua Clottey, or Antonio Margarito"

    - Carlos Quintana

    Thoughts?

Quintana is a talented fighter, I was looking forward to his fight which was going to be his first at 154, so hopefully he gets another fight soon.

    Why?
He showed no signs of being able to take Cottos punishment, let alone give him fits at all.

i agree but he's asking for it.... says he'd like the rematch so why not?

if cotto loses to marg it would be a nice comeback fight anyways

Realistically, he's asking for money. Cotto was his biggest payday, so ofcourse he would want it again, Cotto can win by way of KO1 and people wouldn't recognize it since Quintana was obliterated in their first outing and PW just blasted him recently.

Cotto has nothing to gain but money, Quintana has everything to gain and nothing to lose, really.. it's not hard to understand why he's asking for the fight.

notice how he specifically forgets to mention paul williams..

he names the cream of the crop in the welterweight division

but the one man who he is equal with... he left out...

I'm sure the fact Williams having a fight at MW doesn't mean anything.

    come on now....

your inventing cop outs..... he fought him twice already and he split..

if he truly desired the fight he would have been lobbying for it

    he mentions

    margarito
    berto
    shane
    cotto

why didnt he mention williams? you dont see anything fishy about that

edit: @ the end of the day im not even going back and fourth wtih you.... you just like to get on my ass but it doesnt even matter
in 1 full 12 round fight it took carlos quintana the full distance to beat williams and a perfect effort
in the ohter full 12 round fight it took paul williams 90 seconds to beat quitana ..

theres no need for a rematch the 2nd fight speaks for its self...

lennox lewis didnt have a 3rd fight with rahman
or a 3rd fight with holyfield
srl didnt have a 3rd fight with duran for another 9 years... which was pointless
marvin hagler didnt have a 3rd fight with bobby watts
thomas hearns didnt fight srl a 3rd time...

some 3rd fights are needed.... a 3rd fight with quintana is not needed ..... be realistic for 5 minutes

There is no Shane or Williams.
Williams was 2 weight classes higher,he knows he wouldn't get the fight then. When he did mention it the fight was duable. All the other guys he mentioned are open for negotiating.Get it?I doubt it.
