Denis Lebedev vs Berry Butler on the undercard of Byron Mitchell vs Sven Ottke.

I am not really sure whether their encounter was truly the most brutal fight I have ever seen or not ,but I am bloody sure that I ve never seen a more brutal knockout live in a fight arena.

Lebedev almost killed his game American opponent in the ring that night.

    Ali-Frazier III

    I rank Morales-Barrera I as the best action fight Ive ever seen followed by Chacon-Limon IV, Ali-Frazier III, Leonard-Duran I & Hagler-Hearns.

There was just something about that fight that was brutal, both guys were pushed to the brink & especially being HWTs & at their age. Best ever HWT fight IMO.

how about one guy being in these fights:

    ward gatti 1,2,3
    ward -burton....BRUTAL
ward-greean...came back to get a ko in rd ten after being out on his feet in the fourth
ward-sanchez took a beating for 9 rds and crushed him with a body shot
ward-diaz...toe to toe pretty much ended diaz as a top guy as he would only fight once more against high level
ward-neary...again came back from being out on his feet for a ko
ward-leija...leija quits like camacho did against him to steal a dec it would have been a war

u talk brutal..u talk of the all time blood and guts warrior ...irish micky ward

The Thrilla is mentioned often, but Ali vs Frazier I was brutal as well. Frazier went to the hospital for two weeks and took a shitload of punches, as did Ali, but he seemed to take it better.

Bowe-Golota II is still the most brutal enduring heavyweight fight i've ever seen. Bowe was just destroyed in every way possible when he lay on the canvas after the final low blow.

I hate to be negative, but I honestly don't think gatti vs Ward I is even as good as two fights we've had this year, let alone being mentioned in the same breath as Barrera/Morales I and Corrales/Castillo 1. However, I appreciate the fact you were watching it happen in front of your eyes, so you will obviously have fond memories. A great fight, though.
