Where do you rank Kostya Tszyu's 1 punch power under WW in ATG terms?

Well you gotta know that EVERYBODY on this board should have enough common knowledge to know that Tszyu and Floyd never fought.

as in one punch power under 147, Edwin Rosario now that someone mentioned took out uncle roger in 1 or 2 rounds. arguello or nelson had devastating power despite being smaller than tszyu and also did it vs. the best they fought for the most part. it's safe to say kostya is top 3 or top 5 below 147 alltime. Hamed, Morales, Gomez, Finito Lopez, Carbajal, Lil Red Lopez, Saddler, Gatti, DLH are all honorable mentions, but that double ko of judah is hard to beat and is classic

If you count Duran as 140 pounder, then yes. Duran woulda beaten the **** outta Tszyu.

Mosley would have beaten Tszyu also had he gone to 140, and the 140 Oscar beats Tszyu by decision.

I guess you can Carlos Ortiz to the list as well, since Ortiz was the junior welter champ at one point.

Edwin Rosario and Uncle Roger never fought. If they had... Chapo would have most likely knocked Roger cold.

Mate, I actually waited for these arguements... although, didnt quite expect the names of Duran or Rosario to be feted in comparison. Kostya would be a happy man. The KO of Bergman was sickening..... literally a grotesque finish to any fight. It was far from pretty to watch then, and its far from pretty now. Quite disturbing.
Kostya has a fantastic right hand.... once comparisons simmer, and boxing fans take time to gain an impartial view, he might be accepted as the HARDEST puncher (via right hand) below W/W ever. Big call.......... But a good right hand to witness..

ONE punch power, Tszyu is right up there with the best. That right hand was a ****ing weapon, I can say with some confidence that nobody below 147 hit harder P4P than Kostya with one punch. As hard perhaps, but not harder.

I would absolutely agree with you on all of your points, which basically proves that Tzsyu had a great right hand but against fighters with all-round ability he'd struggle against the greats .. I always had a problem with him being rated p4p number 1 'after' the Phillips fight in the same way i struggle to with Manny Pac being rated p4p 1 now. Ive seen Manny Pac being destroyed by Morales and totally ********* against Marquez in they're first fight .... Maybe its the p4p ratings that **** me off.Ricardo Lopez was never given any credit when he fought but for me hes easy top 3 p4p in the last 20 years

Why didnt the original poster say 'Roger' Mayweather, that would be an obvious thing to do. 'Mayweather' is Floyd if your not on a Chavez post, Roger was nothing as a fighter .. If i have a conversation and say 'Mayweather' everybody knows i mean Floyd

Because the poster thought most people realised there was more than one Mayweather in the world of boxings history.

If you had an ounce of knowledge about Tszyu, you would have known which Mayweather he meant.

Perhaps he thought he didn't need to qualify his statement, assuming the posters posting about Tszyu's ability would actually know who he'd fought??

It wasn't like he mentioned Mayweather in a general conversation, then you might have a point. But he mentioned Mayweather as a Tszyu opponent. There's only been one, so why qualify which one?

tszyu was more than a devastating right hand. i believe too many people underestimate how good he was. too many people put an emphasis on his loss to phillips. he lost but most champions get ko'd at least once in their careers. he recovered quite good from the loss too.
i bet it would be a different result against hatton if they had fought a couple of years earlier.
