This thread goes out to Shannon "The Cannon" Briggs!

Shannon should come back to the fight game and beat the bums out there. If Shannon could bring himself into a good shape, he has the power to knock them all out!!!

Briggs can barely ****ing move in the ring. He won the lineage against Foreman in a fight many felt he lost, and got knocked out by Lewis.

Since then he has fought nobodies and other then having big power he is a bulked out statue in the ring that looks to land one huge go for broke combo to take out his opponent, while wheezing the entire time and lumbering like an oaf. Disgraceful.\

Anyone that can move and throw a jab can beat him.

 

Like Liakhovich did :yep.

 

Please let him stay retired. His fights are extremely boring because:

-He can take 10 steps and throw 10 punches a round, or he gasses
-He can decapitate you with a single left hook (his handspeed is still very good), so most opponents don't throw many punches either

 

Oh come on. Briggs was luckier than a mother****er to win that fight. He was horribly behind on the score cards. In boxing one punch can change everything, but he was never competitive in the fight until those final 30 seconds.
Can you really say the better man won? i doubt it

 

Liakhovich did not throw many punches either. Everytime he did so, Briggs countered him. Briggs was behind one the scorecerds by 2 or 3 rounds. It was not that Liakhovich won every round.

But it was the same Liakhovich that beat the **** out of Brewster.

 

I can amagine Briggs walking around weigh 300+ right now!! before he could get in shape to fight even a top-20 HW i think there would be many new contenders in the division who could beat him! he is done.. IMO

No i dont know!! i said i can imagine.. the guy is very bulked! remember he weigh about 270 lbs in one of his last fights.. so 300+ aint unreal

 

Man I used to love Briggs! I cheered and cheered for him, but damn if he won't show up in shape and try to fight more than 3 rounds what can a fan do?

I would watch him if he returns, and hell yes I even bought the damn Sultan fight PPV and Shannon just didn't do ****. For my money I got to see Shamone "hands of feather" Alvarez fight and Robert Stieglitz half ass it against some old dude with a big beard that he should have ****ed up easily.

But what ever.

 

Briggs time has well past. The years when he should have been plying his trade his spent getting fat. Its time for him to take care of his Asthma and call it time. The fat lady has been screaming at him for some time now.

 

Also Briggs used to come post here, but everybody just treated him like ****, so he went away. ****, whether you like him or not they could have atleast posted respectfully to a man that's been in the ring with some pretty good guys and get real inside scoops as to what's the going ons in the world of boxing.

But again, what ever. Shannon is known to be a internet lover, like us, so he probably still reads. Yo' Cannon, if you stop by just PM me, I'll bull **** with you.:good

a waste of a talent....i like shannon, great personality, great power, dodgy whiskers...whats not too like..should have made for exciting fights.....but jeez, if he wanted to be a bodybuilder so much why did he start boxing...the shannon of the lewis fight..yes..the lewis fight...beats all todays hw's...
