Mike was far more well read and intelligent than he was ever attributed for.

 

LL was very aloof throughout his entire career. I'm not sure if that was because of his persona/personality or whether he was plain arrogant. Either way they knew of each other since they were in there teens. LL could have at least afforded him the respect he deserved as a fellow great and fighter.
