This is another reason why im in the minority that doesnt want 1 champ per division.Champions and challengers(mostly Americans)would be decided by HBO and Showtime. They would be the governing body/bodies.

Has to be to do with money.

With Froch being the champ, they would be forced to give him a lot more than they gave fighters like Lockett, Rubio, Jennings etc.....

No, sir. It will be a PPV produced and broadcast by Top Rank. HBO is no way involved.

You guys remember that long ass article by Hausler that called HBO on a lot of it's bull **** lately? HBO has in response (had to or else look even shittier than they already were) claimed that they WILL NOT be airing any more clear mis-matches (Pavlik/Lockett, Cotto/Gomez) in the future.

But like the OP states, there is no damn good reason in the world that HBO wouldn't carry JT vs. Froch. It would be a hell of a Championship fight, IMO.

Does that mean HBO consider Froch-Taylor a mismatch?

Well I don't see Froch as very good to this point but....when you consider that they would show something like Tarver/Dawson 2 this fight should be on HBO because it would probably be a good fight. Froch doesn't have the name but Taylor does and it is a WBC championship fight. Some fighters from Europe just get shut out until and if they get lucky enough to get a big name go fight them. I'm no Froch fan and I think Jermaine would win but it would be a good gesture for Jermaine to go on over to the UK for this one fight if HBO won't air it. Jermaine's only other logical opponent would be Kessler but if it was after a Froch/Taylor fight it would for unification which would be great.

Surely not, not to mention Froch is the WBC Champion. that post you quoted I had written to King Dan, because he thought the Pavlik and Cotto PPV was being done by HBO.

Didn't you read the last of my post you quoted? I clearly said Froch vs. Taylor would be a great fight, and really is not understandable why they wouldn't cover it.

    My guess?
    1. Maybe Froch insist that the fight be in the UK, and HBO with the low ratings for boxing they've been getting is not willing to fork over the dough to transport it's production team across the pond.

    2. Like somebody said earlier, maybe they don't think Taylor can win?
He's clearly a favorite of theirs, at HBO.

    3. Dates could be a factor? Maybe when the fight could go down (and I have no idea, OK) they already have their budget set up for something else.

Pure guess and speculation, I think they would be wise to show the fight.
And also, I truly have no idea personally what the hell HBO thinks or percieves as a worth while show.

    :yep:!:

That's a real good post Jeff M. :good

But Jermaine has said live on HBO that he wants the fight with the most money. And I bet my left nut JT ain't goin' no where with out HBO.

HBO would rather keep showing old fighters like DLH, Hopkins, Glass Jaw Jones, Winky Wright etc. than the younger guys that are coming up.
