Fighters who fall short of true greatness but are great h2h?

    What fighters do you feel would do well in h2h scenarios even though they fall short of being really great?

    Bowe seems to be the archetypical case here. Other names could possibly be for example Benitez and Camacho. Naseem?

    Please contribute with your own opinions about whether these fighters belong on this list, and with other fighters that you feel do.

    Perhaps this isnt what you mean but PBF & Joe C rate better H2H then their resumes do IMO.

    Yeah, probably. But I don't think it's the same gulf as for Bowe. I see Bowe aksing question even of a prime Ali if they fight, but he's not in my top 10, probably not even in my top 15, while Ali is my nr. 1.

    I think Eddie Mustafa Muhammed, on his best day, matches up favorably with ALOT of lightheavyweights in history.

    Also, perhaps an even better example than Curry... Micheal Nunn. The 88 Nunn gives ANY middleweight in history hell, and I do mean any.

    Gerry Penalosa Id chuck in there..he didnt enjoy certain styles, guys who used their size on him namely but when fighting in a weight that suited him he was extremely hard to deal with.

    Tyson was great. The man is a top 10 all time heavyweight.

    Orlando Canizales. One of the best Bantamweights ever, he simply lacked the resume to gain the recognition his skills deserved.

    I really don't think Tyson is a Top 10 All-Time Heavyweight. He had the potential to be one of the greatest Heavyweights ever. Can't blame history for the lack of Talent in the heavyweight division during his time on top. Prison took away alot of his potential fights() And I don't believe he raped that girl) that would have made him great. A Prime Tyson vs a Prime Holyfield would have been incredible but in all reality once Tyson lost to Buster he lost every big fight he was in. One of the Most feared Heavyweights ever definately, Punching Power Incredible but if you look at his career as a whole he's not a top 10 ATG in my opinion. Tyson just made to many bad career choices. Dropping Cayton dropping Rooney all bad moves that were detrimental to his career. Those are just a few we all know the choices Tyson made
